Understanding Human Differences: Multicultural Education for a Diverse America

Eye opening!
This is one of the best books I have ever read. As an educator I have reflected on my own biases and made adjustments. All humans have similarities and differences. However, before one human attempt to understand another, I highly recommend reading this book as it is highly informative and and extremely enlightening.

Out of date and overly simplified
It is a grand undertaking to write a textbook containing all the topics covered here, but I found the book to be overly simplified to the point of being inappropriate for a scholarly text. Uses a ton of second-hand sources, and almost all of the research cited comes from 2014 or earlier. The attempted histories are very incomplete and lack nuance and rigor. This was assigned to me in a graduate-level teaching course, and it seemed very inappropriate. It may be more appropriate for an introductory undergraduate or highschool setting.

Biased
Had to read this for a cultural pluralism class but did not enjoy it at all. Ironically, information and opinions seem very biased. Felt like i was being pushed an agenda that favors one side.
