I've read a few of the reviews and was hesitant to purchase this item because I thought it might be too small, but it suits our needs just fine. My 1-year-old 'helped' me put this together in less than 15 minutes and I didn't even need the hammer (directions say to use a hammer to get the top bar in correctly, but I was able to do it by just pressing down on it). The bottom bins are quite roomy and the top bins are adequate for smaller toys. We managed to fit 2 entire packages of wooden blocks in one of the bottom bins, stuffed animals in the other bottom bin. Small bins are great for organizing board books and small playsets. We have a larger toy box for big stuff, but this shelf is fantastic at making all the smaller toys accessible without having to dig around in the toybox.Pros:* bins can be removed, but not *too* easily. About a week after setup and little one has only pulled a few bins out here and there.* shelf is made of sturdy but lightweight plastic that isn't going to hurt little ones if they do manage to pull it down* shelf can be mounted to the wall, but I haven't needed to because it is sufficiently bottom-heavy* bins are sturdy and a nice size* comes with 16 dry-erase stickers to customize the front of the bins and 6 stickers to decorate the sides.* super-easy assembly. all you need is a screwdriver, and even that is sort of optional (just a small piece of heavy cardstock screwed into the back of the bottom shelf)* safe for younger kids (?) the box said age 2 and up, while other brands said 3 and up. I think this is because of the type of plastic used in the bins and the safety if kids chew on it.Cons:* it is a bit pricey for what you get* the plastic bins attract pet hair like crazy (dry weather, static-electricity = hair magnets)* Step 2 doesn't make any matching items, so if you want to coordinate with a larger toybox, there aren't any (that I have found) in the same color scheme.UPDATE: 2.5 years and another kid later and I'm still using this thing. None of the bins show any signs of damage and the whole unit still looks brand new. Now, instead of baby toys, my now 3-yr-old and his near 2-yr old sister use this to store their trains. Small wooden trains and tracks go in the small bins and longer wooden tracks and bridges go in the larger bottom bins. We even use it to store some of their Geotrax engines and smaller tracks. For anyone worried their kids will outgrow this in a year or two, have no fear! You're always going to need storage for bins of junk when you have kids, so you might as well get some attractive and sturdy storage items.

i did tons of research about the "best" toy organizer for my budget. I'm so happy that I eventually went with this one - it's definitely worth it and everyone compliments me on how cute it is (even my MIL lol)I was able to build it in about 15 minutes (you need a hammer and a screwdriver) and it's pretty sturdy. I like the shapes of the side-pieces (the tan/gray ones) because they make it less likely to topple over. This did come with the wall bracket also and that was pretty easy to set up too.The colors are exactly as they look in the picture.It comes with the 9 small bins and 2 large bins. It's good to note that the small bins are pretty tiny so make sure you know what you're ordering. They are all pretty deep though and i'm able to put a bunch of toys in each.Also good to note is that those cute white shapes were not initially on the bins (same for the colorful circles on the sides) - they are actually stickers that you can put on yourself. Even better, these work with dry-erase markers so you can easily label what you have in each bin. The box came with more bin stickers than are needed so make sure to choose the shapes you like when putting them on :) They were very easy to peel and place - no ripped stickers, no bubbles, no problem.I like putting random toys in each bin (not just stuffed animals in one, and water toys in another, for example) and giving a different bin to my son every so often so that we circulate the old toys and he's kept entertained.

We have owned this shelving unit for almost a year now and have no complaints. It's perfect for the little toys we accumulate.This shelf has 11 bins (9 smaller and 2 larger). The 9 larger each sit on 3 shelves, the two larger sit on the floor. There is an optional safety anchor to attach to the wall if you are concerned about the shelf tipping over, but It's not something I've ever had a worry about. The bins are all made of sturdy, lightweight plastic that can be removed easily, but not too easily from the shelving unit.The biggest benefit of this shelving unit is that it has helped my son understand that certain toys go in certain places. He has a bin for his cars, a bin for his animals and so on.Unlike large toy boxes where everything gets dumped in and things get lots at the bottom, this organizer is the way to go!I highly recommend purchasing this organizer for quality organization as well as durability and style!

I got this for my grandson. I was skeptical because of the size of the bins and the "style" of this item, and I did want to get him a more traditional toy box, but my daughter picked it out so we got it.So, I love it, actually. It's very sturdy, and even has a safety strap to tether it to the wall so it doesn't tip over accidentally. The fact that it has all these little bins is great. He used to have a big, traditional sort of toy box, and he had many things he didn't play with because they had sunk to the bottom and he never got to them. Now he sees everything, and its all in reach.This is not good for bigger things, his trucks and planes and things like that do not fit in here. But it's perfect for blocks, crayons, little people, cars, tools, etc

I ordered this after going back and forth with a few different organizers - it's not the biggest or the cheapest but it met all our needs; fits in our playroom, is sturdy, matches the decor/doesn't look stupid. It was easily assembled and quickly filled - my only complaint is that the bins are a little smaller than expected.The organizer arrived however, with two of the bins damaged prior to packing (it honestly looked like they were drug on the factory floor then packed up with the rest of the set) and the seller VM Express was really great in following up with bvb the company Step 2 and had two replacement bins quickly shipped to me directly from the factory. Wow- now that's great customer service.Overall it's a great little organizer advantage even better seller.

Came really fast and is a beautiful addition to or home. I love how the bins are held in with a small divot so they don't slide all over the place. It is very lite so having it anchored to the wall is a good idea if you have a climber.

built solid, like how it comes with the anchors for added safety and really made a difference in toy organization, my son 14 months old is able to walk and pick out his toys with ease now.

Item is exactly as pictured. It looks adorable in my LO's room... very happy with this purchase!
