Hunter's TailUV Umbrella Hat

Very impressed with the quality of this unit. I've purchased several other brands of head-worn umbrellas; all of them were cheap and poor quality. This one is a definite keeper! Works as advertised and fits comfortably. As it's about at Large as a full sized umbrella it can actually keep you dry in the rain as well as do a better job keeping you out of the sun (unlike the smaller ones). Larger than average protection bulbs at the ends of the ribs. Decent storage bag making it ideal for keeping in the car.NOTE: Be proactively aware of other people around you while wearing this. Especially the ones mindlessly walking by with their noses buried in their mobile devices! It's easy to turn your head and poke a passerby in the face.

This hat is hilarious and gets tons of compliments, people love it. The quality is questionable at best and does not like the wind over a few mph but definitely keeps the sun off my shoulders. The band that holds it on your head is fully flexible and should fit pretty much anyone's head, my hat size is 7 1/2 and fits just fine. It's more comfortable than I expected. I'll probably get another one if this one fails and is not repairable since it's inexpensive. Overall, 4 stars. Nice.

I recently used this umbrella hat after the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta, Ga. I was impressed by the quality and durability of the product. It kept me cool. It was interesting moving through a crowd of people :) creates a good amount of space between you and others. I purchased when on sale for $5. After using it, I wanted to purchase more at that price, but to my surprise... regularly priced. I will definitely get more for stocking stuffers!

Bought this on a whim, figuring I'd gamble with the $10. I had a similar but much smaller version back in the 70s without the ventilation or adjustability. Really surprised how well it fits and the quality. I'd like to add one small tweak to the design and that is a sweat band on the headband, ie - terry covering on forehead band; The rubber is sturdy, but is too warm for me, so I'm adding a small cloth band in the front. It could easily be a velcro design that is removable and washable. I'm happy with my purchase, and yea, it looks a bit silly!

Headband breaks down to quickly due to sweat absorption- no way to prevent sweating in the sun....

I bought this as a gift for my daughter, who walks from house to barn to feed chickens, sometimes in the rain.She'd seen it advertised and wanted to try it. She said it worked great, but I notice she carries a regular umbrella now, so apparently not a good idea for trying to actually do outside work. I imagine it's good for walking around in light rain and getting comments from passers-by.

A few minutes ago I was starting the return process. What didn't work when the umbrella hat arrived last week, is working now. I'm sorry I don't know the terminology, but here goes. The center point or handle on a regular umbrella is supposed to fit in the hole in the top as in a regular umbrella. The way mine is built it would not line up and it was impossible to get the male part into the female part. For some unknown reason, it worked today. I cannot get it to close. It is not comfortable on my head as others have mentioned. It is a good idea but needs better engineering and quality control.

It's true that this hat looks ridiculous. But, it has served quite well over two days-long fishing trips in the rain. I frankly didn't think it was going to last for 15 minutes, assuming it would blow up, get stuck, or something on it would snap and collapse. But, it's still going, and is in the cabin for the next time I fish in the rain. My buddy got one too, and we looked absolutely ridiculous fishing for hours on end in the rain. But, there was actually a nice rain shadow underneath it where it felt relatively dry. I highly recommend it.

I bought it to help keep the sun off my head while on the Seadoo. It works perfectly and gives me shade when the sun is too hot.. It stays on up to about 15 mph. It seems well made and should last for a while.. As long as I don't go too fast and lose it. The chinstrap holds it on fairly well

when putting up the umbrella - there is a knob to affix the other side for spoke-locking, it can bend around, so keep your eye on it while placing it together, and then it is a well-made umbrella hat.

Bought it for the person who has everything, except an umbrella hat. Plans on wearing it on next vacation for shade. Looks like he has a flying saucer on his head but he doesn’t care.
