If your in a class using this as it's source material you'll enjoy the class! I'd buy this one as a cheap paperback over renting or digital, good reference point for future classes.

This book really makes you "think about what you're thinking about." I couldn't stop thinking about how this book was, "so cool." We've been thinking from the moment we're born, but are we thinking in the most efficient way? I never noticed how many fallacies I make in everyday life, how many assumptions I make, or things I held as true that I never really tested out.I couldn't put this book down and finished it in two days. It is really interesting, easy to read, and I love the paranormal examples!I think this is an important book for anyone, because sometimes your current belief or hypothesis isn't the best or most efficient one, and you can stand to improve your life by testing your beliefs, in a controlled manner, without being misled by emotions.

It's great! The information is written in such a creative way that the student is being entertained as well as informed. Learning is suddenly fun, and easy to understand. I am a tutor and my ESL student is doing better with this text book than he has done with any other. I am so pleased and can heartily recommend that teachers and tutors everywhere appraise this book for yourselves, I think you will be pleased.

I don't know why there is only one other review atm. This is an excellent book that explains critical thinking, logical fallacies and argumentation / logic while at the same time demonstrating how to apply them to pseudoscience and current topics in the headlines. I wish I was given a book like this when I was in middle school. I was kind of expecting it to be a little dry because of the subject matter and the fact that it's a textbook but it really wasn't at all. I'll probably re-read it every few years honestly.

This book is excellent. It teaches great things that I now use in everyday life! It explains everything clearly and well. It's interesting, makes you think. Sometimes it over complicates things and explains things in a weird way but it is worth the read, but could be skimmed in some parts. I would recommend it to every one I know!

i can truly and honestly say that I think everybody should read this book. In addition to being incredibly interesting and easy to read, the subject matter is very great, and it is one of the easier and clear cut class texts I have ever used.

It was the book required for my critical thinking course.It concentrates on weird things, as the title indicates.I ended up asking my prof if there were better books out therethat discussed critical thinking. Not everything we encounteris weird and spooky and paranormal. I got more from class notes atlectures than this book.
