Freud BP50057R: 5 mm (Dia.) Brad Point Bit with Right Hand Rotation 57.5mm overall length

I had researched a bit that I’d hoped would give me clean and precise shelf pin holes for my cabinet projects. Landed on this one, bought it, and so far have drilled at least 200 holes with it. I use this bit in my drill press and have had great results. No tear out, nice and clean. Note: if you’re using this in a hand held drill or press, be sure to get it lined up in your chuck correctly so that it doesn’t wobble when it spins.

This bit works well, the holes are clean and accurate. I ordered this to drill holes for 5 mm barrel hinges, and it's just right for that purpose. It has a flat area on the shank that can make it a bit fussy to tighten in my drill press. The brad point is a bit short compared to traditional brad point twist bits as well as shorter in overall length.

I got this to cut pockets for ukulele fingerboard dots. It cuts perfect sharp-edged holes in brittle fingerboard woods. Another quality Freud bit.

using this with a collet reducer with a dewalt DW621 with a festool LR32 system working great so far.

Perfect for drilling through fiberglass.I drilled 400 holes through fiberglass roof panels and the bit was still perfectly sharp.Very high quality. Excellent price.
