It is rated at 16 amps, so is compatible with 3KW. It needs to be mounted in a pattress box. This can be recessed into the wall or surface mounted. It could, however, replace the switch and use it's pattress. It could then be programmed by the timer with manual on/off option at any time.

IP rating is a score relating to how protective the casing of an electrical product is. In this case waterproofing. Basically the higher the number the more protected - try Googling ip54 and you will find some charts that explain more.

Not easily. This is a 3 wire device requiring a live and neutral feed and a wire out to the load. Usually lighting circuits have just two wires to the switch which simply "breaks" the live feed to the light.
