It's Not Little Red Riding Hood (It’s Not a Fairy Tale)

Hilarious, engaging and fantastic art work
I got the entire series and love them all. This one, as with all the others are not only highly entertaining but it makes you stop and think about how we all just accepted these highly improbable stories as kids.I'm not sure it works well as a bedtime story book, because it's not going to lull any kid to sleep. It'll have them cracking up and wanting to discuss the adventures. But seriously, why did none of us question why a little girl was sent to travel through the woods on her own, lugging a big basket that didn't even contain medicine. I mean, as a Gen Xer, parents allowing kids to do dangerous things with zero supervision was just the way it was, but in today's world, the it makes for the improbability of that making sense, which just makes the storyline even more hilarious

Hilarious Fractured Fairytale
Just read this to my son for the first time and I must say this is a hilarious take on Little Red Riding Hood. I literally laughed out loud several times while reading this to my son. Very well written and funny. I love a good fractured fairy tale and will be buying the rest in this series. The illustrations are also adorable and very colorful. Would definitely recommend this book to others who enjoy fractured fairy tales.

Witty & fun!
I bought this for my 5 year old because she loves anything related to fairytales. I am a middle school teacher and always try to find several variations of the same story to use in my classroom to show how point of view can impact the storytelling. This book works for both my daughter and my students. It is so well done. I especially love how Red breaks the fourth wall and talks directly to the narrator. Even my 5 year old thinks it’s funny.

Love this fractured fairy tale
I’m a Libertarian at an Elementary School and I read this to my kids. They loved the change in the story and enjoyed finding the other fairy tale characters in the illustrations. I ordered several more of the books to add to our Library.

Funny family book
A classic story with a twist that's fun and humorous. Characters and narrator have their own personality in the story.

Adorable
My children and I absolutely love this series. We love that the narrator tries to follow through with the original story line for each book but the characters keep changing it up on him. For example, in the "It's Not Little Red Riding Hood" story, instead of the Big Bad Wolf appearing, it's Captain Hook and for the Woodsman it is Pinocchio. The Wolf and Woodsman are home sick so the other characters were asked to"fill in" for the day for them. This series is so funny and very creative!

A delight from start to finish
You know when children pretend and the bossy one says, "I'll say ... And then you'll say ... And then I'll say ...?" This book is like watching it all unfold with everyone pitching in and making it really funny. The pictures are great as are all the fairy tale creatures who don't belong at first but make themselves at home anyway. A+
