Great print of a previously hard to find movie

A much, much better movie than I expected based on the reviews! I bought the DVD because I enjoyed the book by Mario Puzo "The Sicilian". The movie is generally well shot and well acted and tells a powerful story amongst breathtaking landscapes. True, the film is uneven with regard to its scenes. Some are extremely well done and moving. Others, however, are weak and both the story and the character could have progressed without them. Still, I enjoyed it immensely. Hopefully, this is not the final word with regard to a first class screenplay on either Salvatore Giuliano or Mario's Puzo's "The Sicilian". Both deserve better treatment.

So this transfer is absolutely terrible. The image itself is grainy and blurry and faded, like you're watching a rip of a VHS tape recorded off a television broadcast. Bue even worse is the shrinking of the image itself. The actual image only takes up the very center of the screen, as it is both letterboxed and pillarboxed. I've never seen such a travesty. See photo. Don't buy.

It could have been a lot better movie.If the movie had really followed the book better,it would have been much better. And of coursepeople need to remember the "Sicilian" family hadnothing to do with the Corleone Family.

This movie was pretty decent.

This was a great value for money DVD. As I had not seen this film before I really enjoyed watching it. I can recommend without any hesitation at all..

The quality is excellent

Der Film ist ein reiner Klassiker. Schöne Landschaften, schöne Darsteller, unglaublich schöne Musik, die allein einen Kauf des Soundtracks lohnt (den ich natürlich auch habe als LP). Rundum ein lohnenswerter Kauf für alle Fans vom "Silberauge" Chris Lambert, der sich leider immer mehr rar macht zur Zeit. Seine beste Leistung wird aber der Highlander bleiben, schade drum, aber den Film habe ich auch in meiner Sammlung, er ist damit unsterblich geworden.
