Weaver Leather Bullet Throw Weight by

I used to use a 14oz throwball with the Big Shot; however, being so heavy it could not reach higher than 30’ or so. This lighter throwball goes past the 40’ mark with ease. I also like that it has a bottom loop to attach my climbing rope sewn eye using a biner as before with my other throwball I would have to untie the ball from the throw line and tie it to my rope. This caused it to become stuck a few times, which was a pain in the arse.

The best part is that the shape and fabric material allow the weight to slide easily across branches and come back down to the ground easily. Haven't lost it yet!

Tough bag so far. Been tossing the throw bag at tree branches 25-60 ft in the air and pulled up 3 outdoor extension cords and 18 sets of Christmas lights. I'm standing on mixed terrain. The throw bag hits dirt and cement on misses. No visible wear after 30+ throws, just a bit dirty. It feels like the black part is even sewn on top of the yellow if I'm not mistaken, which may give it an extra layer.Initially, I thought the prominent black would make it hard to see, but after a couple months of using this throw bag, the black seems to help contrast the yellow, which makes it a little more visible in daylight and night time (with some lighting of course).Pretty good weight for spinning underhand toss or overhand lob. I'm using this with the  Weaver Leather Replacement Polyethylene Throw Line, Yellow  and it's been pretty snag free. I've only managed to get the bag temporarily stuck in the branches when I impatiently yanked the line in attempt to retrieve the bag for another throw. To avoid getting it tangled in the branches, it's best to pull the line SLOWLY and let the bag slip over the obstacles, while maintaining a constant pulling speed to keep it moving. Feel the line. After a few tries you'll get in the groove.

Weaver is one of the more reputable companies for tree gear. I purchased this throw bag because it has both the key ring tie in as well as a fabric loop on the opposite end to allow clipping a carabiner as a retrieval device, etc. It's well stitched and material appears to be durable. Time will tell how long it lasts.

I bought this to get a ham radio antenna in the air. Following the advice of some other reviewers, I went with the lightest weight available. It was still plenty hefty to pull a line into a tree, while being a little easier to throw 30-40 feet up. I missed the branch I was aiming for several times, but the weight bag showed no sign of wear or complaining. I'm sure it'll serve me for many years to come.

12 oz is exactly what I wanted. Works very well.

Perfect for my home made big shot launcher. Im getting it up to the 100-120ft level in the redwoods on my property. Im launching it tied to dynaglide slick line and Ive found no better setup. This weight and line combo slips down the trees through branches and bark as if there was no friction at all. This weight, line and launcher combo has taken my anchor point to higher levels than ever before. Highly recommended.
