Diary of a Minecraft Zombie Book 4: Zombie Swap

I don’t know what I was thinking when i bought this for my first grader!He requested it and I just bought it without reading the level it was on.No pictures just words and it’s for an advanced reader.

We have read all of the books in the Diary of a Minecraft Zombie series, but this one is my son's favorite. If you haven't read the other books in the series, you might want to check them out first (starting with Book 1). You could probably read this one without having read the others, but it's better (in my opinion) if you read them in order so you're familiar with the characters. The book is written in diary style, and the chapters are broken up into days as Zombie tells you about his life. Zombie is a likable Mob and not at all scary. He has a human friend Steve (and in this story, they wind up switching bodies because of a swamp witch! Oh no!) and lots of funny Mob friends, too. My son thought it was hysterical how Zombie tried to fit in as "Steve" in the human Minecraft world. It's very creative and spins off the Minecraft game, so not everything is exactly how you see it in the game (Zombie has a family and goes to school, Steve also goes to school, etc.). The book is a quick read and suitable for 7 and up (although in this particular story, they talk about a lot of things that 12 year olds go through, like bullying and trying to fit in at middle school that maybe the young kids won't get yet. But this did not seem to bother my son!). There are some black and white illustrations/pictures throughout that my son enjoyed, too. The book is very clever and I chuckled aloud several times while reading it. The whole series is a great way to inspire Minecrafters to read. And if your child is a fan of the Wimpy Kid series, they'll enjoy the style of the book, too!

I have a hard time getting my son to read because he thinks everything is boring. I decided to buy these and give them a try and he finished this book in an hour it's amazing seeing him so interested.

I love that he enjoys reading these books and wants all 15. He is passing them down to his 6 year old sister so they both are enjoying your books.

These are awesome. Snagged them as soon as I saw them for my nephew and they remind me of my childhood reading captain underpants. (yes i know the two are not the same at all but the book and the font and the photos threw me back to my good old days)

Beware the quality of these books. In a couple of places in the book a chunk of pages are upside down and are missing parts of the bottom or top of page (the page numbers are chopped off so I don't know if any are missing entirely). My son was very disappointed (though, he enjoyed the actual story itself - hence the two stars).I tried to navigate getting an exchange but couldn't find an easy way to contact the seller and Amazon's returns page only had options for me exchanging for entirely different books.

I liked the build up of the story and I like the idea of the story and it was very exciting and I liked it very much.
