So Cool!
This is our first Nancy B's product but it will not be our last! This is the cutest little science kit. I purchased this for a Christmas present so we have not done any of the activities yet but I can already tell my 6 six year old will LOVE it. It seems easy enough for her to read and play with on her own some too. Really excited about this brand!

Great for outdoors
Works quite well. The kit is a bit bulky but overall great for outdoor activities.

Great gift idea for building interest in science
This is great and got my niece looking at the trees and flowers with her pop during her visit. This was nice since he is an avid gardner and keeps alot of plants in his home all year long. Great memories running around collecting leaves. Only warning is be careful when cutting open package. We accidentally got the book in the process.

I thought this would be fun for my daughter to use out in our woods
I thought this would be fun for my daughter to use out in our woods, little did i know you have to adopt a tree for this journal for a year, not what was expected at all.

Endless fun all year!!
Our entire family has been having a blast with the Nancy B Nature Keeper and Tree Diary! We live in a heavily treed area and love that this activity book encouraged all of us to get outside and explore! Because we spend so much time outside, I am always looking for ways to change up the routine and this fits the bill...My 6 and 4 year old daughters immediately went outside to find leaves and flowers to put into the press. The diary instructs the budding scientists to "adopt a tree", even though it was hard to pick which tree, they ultimately decided on the very large ponderosa pine tree in our front yard and an oak tree that is in our side yard that is currently producing tons of acorns. The elk that frequently visit our yard in search for food were also a topic of discussion and why they rip off the bark on some of the trees...We talked about the bugs and animals that "hang out" in the tree by our house (and believe me there are a lot!) We talked about squirrels, insects and owls and why it is so important to have trees. It brought up several of side discussions about habitats, oxygen, the environment and agriculture...And just like that, they were learning a ton! (And my husband and I learned a few things too haha). My 6 year old daughter has enjoyed this most of all because she is able to read and write in the journal, and she is ALL about science and nature these days. They both loved using the leaf shaped hole puncher too, when they weren't able to get outside on a rainy day. They have also been using it for craft projects for autumn. The Journal is very informative about all of the seasons and can be used throughout the year. Even though the diary is advanced for my 4 year old, she and her older sister both like to hunt for special leaves and flowers so I wouldn't say it's for one specific age. If a parent is with the younger kids and can assist with documentation in the journal it could work for anyone!Another PRO; it is so refreshing to see educational items for younger kids. The Nancy B line isn't geared towards a particular gender, and would make a great and unique gift for the holidays or for birthdays. We also have the microscope and telescope from Nancy B and love those too! Can't wait to check out some more of their items this Christmas.Highly recommend this product...Happy exploring!

It's small enough to carry in a purse.
I glued the pages together, on one side, so they don't come apart when I open it and I can fill it a bit at a time, without losing flowers, as well. I only wish out wasn't plastic.

Why are you not buying this already!
Nancy B has amazing educational tools for kids. They are geared towards girls but boys love it too! My niece is a budding scientist at the age of 6, and she jumps up and down when she gets a new Nancy B gift because she gets to learn something new that she doesn’t know about. Even though the construction of the leaf press is mediocre I am stillgiving this 5 stars because it’s the quality of the book that comes with the toot that is an invaluable resource for young learners.
