The Sinister Six are back
Life is tough for the Amazing Spider-Man, especially in the story involving the return of the union of his most deadly foes, the Sinister Six. In this story, Dr.Octopus reunites the Sinister Six(Electro, Sandman, Mysterio and Vulture) to not only destroy Spider-Man but to unleash something deadly upon New York City. A new member, the Hobgoblin is added to replace a member, the deceased Kraven the Hunter(see Kraven's Last Hunt). This is a bad time for Spidey's foes to return as he himself is in a tough situation. His Aunt May's fiance Nathan Lubensky is dying of cancer and his wife Mary Jane Watson is being stalked by a murderous admirer. Not only does he have to fight the Six, but he also must defend Mary Jane and keep his poor Aunt comfortable. Guest stars Captain America, Dr.Strange, several members of the Avengers and Iron Man.The Sinister Six first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1(1964). At this time, it consisted of Doc Ock, Kraven, Electro, Mysterio, Sandman and Vulture. Return of the Sinister Six contains The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1(1964) and Amazing Spider-Man issues #334-339(1990). Hobgoblin is invited to join the group in issues #334-339 to replace Kraven who died in Kraven's Last Hunt. I would recommend this to any Spider-Man fan who loves classical Spider-Man stories. All issues contain artwork done by Steve Ditko and Erik Larsen and stories by Stan Lee, David Michelinie and Tom DeFalco. I myself have been reading Spider-Man since childhood and this one contains issues from the 90s and an issue from the 60s. This story also has a surprise ending. If you like a Spider-Man story with adventure, suspense, emotional scenes and more, then don't miss Return of the Sinister Six.

A must-have for fans!
While Erik Larsen would reach the Sinister Six's peak with their "Revenge", here's where it all started. These guys have been long favorites of mine (and other fans' too, I'm sure), and having their first appearance and their "Return" in such fine edition is mostly exciting, considering the best Sinister Six stories are in beautiful, hardcover books.Steve Ditko and Erik Larsen's pencils sure are fine to put Spidey face-to-face with some of his deadliest enemies, in some his best stories in terms of plot, altough the original and very first story might strike new and younger readers as "too simple" (they should put it in perspective, for it was published in 1964). The "Return", on the other hand, is perfectly up-to-date, and displays such a cynical and evil Doctor Octopus as there can be.

Simply Sinister!!!
What a fun trip to my childhood. This is the first story arc that I collected after my father brought me back some "Spidey" books from a business trip. What can I say except that, "does whatever a Spider can." The web this story spins is so much fun to sit back and watch unfold. The inclusion of the original Sinister Six story by Stan "The Man" Lee and Steve Ditko just adds to the fun. So if you love classic Spidey as much as the next guy then pick up this book and enjoy.

Great Gift for the Comic lover
I got this as a gift for my brother. It shipped very quickly and was hardcover, which I didn't realize when I purchased. It looked fancy and he really enjoyed it. I saw him reading it before I left.

The odds are against our hero.
This trade collects Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1, and Amazing Spider-Man #334-339.The Annual comprises about a quarter of the page count and features the first gathering of the Sinister Six. It's early in Spidey's crimefighting career, but each of his nemeses have had a couple of shots at him. Frustrated by their failures, Dr. Octopus proposes they band together and force Spiderman to faces them all in succession, on their terms. Comics in 1964 were certainly different than those in the modern age, and Lee and Ditko's styles won't suit everyone, but they are masters of the early days of Marvel and Six's formation makes an interesting read. The remainder of the collection contains the six part Return of the Sinister Six. It had been years since Electro, Mysterio, the Vulture, Kraven, Sandman and Dr. Octopus joined forces to deal with their hated foe, both in storyline and out. Peter Parker has married, Kraven has passed on (see Kraven's Last Hunt), and Sandman gone straight. But once again Dr. Octopus has a plan, and to achieve it he'll need to seek his compatriots' assistance once again.Michelinie tells a good story over these issues, weaving together relevant changes in the characters, strong subplots involving supporting characters, and some pleasantly unexpected twists and turns. The story is still a bit over-the-top, but very good regardless. Larsen's distinctive art style has it's weaknesses, but overall is done very well here and accentuates the story.Featuring a nice contrasting pair of stories, Sinister Six is a solid recommendation for any fan of Spiderman or his rogue's gallery.

A great read for any fan of spiderman's most colorful and diverse rogues.
One story tells of spiderman's first encounter with the sinister six way back around early 1960s, while the second 2 thirds of the book depict a new incarnation of the sinister six once again causing problems in the life of spiderman, as well as for the rest of the world. Packed with some fan favorite villains, amazing art work and actions scenes reminiscent of spiderman the animated series(1994). Not to mention game changing moments that are well written giving the story more engagement value and raising the stakes to surprising levels. A recommended book for any spiderman fan by far, and must have for collectors of premiere hard cover editions.

Dope comic, bad condition
I'm not that picky when it comes to "wear and tear" but the cover had multiple stains and was wrinkled on each of the corners. Not that big of a deal but if your looking for a "pristine" comic, I would recommend somewhere else.

Spider-Mans' Worst Nightmare
6 of his most evil enemies fight him one after the other. Could things get any worse? Yes they can when 6 return to fight him all at once. This is Spider-Man at his best. Great storylines combined with excellent art-work.
