Fun Spinoff of Death of Wolverine
With the Death of Wolverine over the story continues in this mini series from the former story's scribe Charles Soule. Mystique, X-23, Daken, Sabretooth, and Lady Deathstrike have been brought together by a new group of Weapon X super soldiers lead by the enigmatic Shogun. With Logan dead, the race is on to locate and secure his adamantium-encased body. This new team needs Logan's DNA to cure Shogun and the Weapon X-ers from a terminal virus implanted in their DNA; in return Shogun with release the team from secret command words hypnotically implanted in all of them. It is a tense team up made of necessity and when Mr. Sinister tries to steal Logan's corpse first, they have a common enemy. First, you need to have read by the Logan Legacy and Weapon X books that tied in with Death of Wolverine to understand what's going on here. The latter introduces Shogun and his terminally ill compatriots while the former explains why the various healing-factor enabled heroes and villains are now stuck working alongside Shogun. The mini series is a blast early on thanks to the fun new Weapon X team and the great character dynamics, though it starts to drag in later volumes after this one due to a long sub plot featuring the character Fang and then a rushed ending due to the impending Secret Wars event that did a soft reboot to the Marvel Universe. Still a great read for fans of the characters.

Action-packed
Interesting read. I like the team--not so much the new side characters, though.
