Well most of my ratings are a bit long but this one is simple…5 StarsI started my quest for these the day I bought an Action Cam. I really needed to mount it in a place where a small screw could only go though I didn't want to use a single poll type threaded unit as I needed a stop point on both ends. Then I found these and I will say they go like hot cakes so get them when you can and order an extra one or two as well (I wish I did the first time around).These screws have many uses, I mostly use them for small led lights, extra male to male screws needed for holding anything and everything around my cameras. I currently use these to hold my mini tripod heads to stands, mic clamps, extension rods, tripod head plates for wireless audio receivers needing to be mounted to my shoulder rig and so much more.Perfect, durable and thus far they have been a quality product for my video camera "if only I had" needs. The only bad thing is you never have enough of these little guys.

I have to apologize to SMALLRIG. Their comment that I may not have purchased from SMALLRIG is correct. After additional investigation I discovered what happened. The first order I places for these 1/4" Male to 1/4" male adapters was from SMALLRIG. I very much liked these. When I reordered two more sets using Amazon's "Buy It Again" button, Amazon took me to a page advertising what appeared to be the same product, but from a different vendor, which was Vinient. I did not notice the change of vendors. I tested the "Buy It Again" button from the original order before writing this and it still has this behavior. It takes you to Vinient instead of SMALLRIG.The 1/4" Male to 1/4" male adapters I received from SMALLRIG were high quality, heavy, stainless steel and well cut threads. The two sets I received from Vinient were not the same. Much poorer quality. In the attached image, the adapter on the left is from SMALLRIG (the first set I ordered). The adapter on the right is from Vinient (the second order) and the one being reviewed.You can see they are not the same. The dimensions of the adapters I received from Vinient do not match those shown in their ad. Threads are poor. It is very unlikely they are stainless steel; they are magnetic (yes, there are magnetic SSs, but seldom used for fasteners). I work with a lot of SS fasteners and as soon as I saw these I knew they were not stainless, wrong color. They appear to be nickel or chrome plated, SS is seldom plated. I knew something was wrong as soon as I saw the adapters were not in SMALLRIG labeled bags.The adapters I received from Vinient are not the ones they advertised and not the same as I received in previous orders. They will work, but a poor substitute. It appears Vinient is advertising a SMALLRIG product and then substituting a cheaper product.Update: June 20, 2016After writing the review above, I received a refund from Amazon (probably Vinient) for the lower quality adapters I received from Vinient. I still wanted more adapters and ordered three more sets making sure I was purchasing them from SMALLRIG. The adapters I received were the same high quality product I received in my first order. I've reset my rating to 5-star. Just make sure you know who you are actually purchasing from. Stick with SMALLRIG.

So I ordered my wife the NETATMO Rain Gauge for Netatmo Weather Station, so that we can get the rain info at our house. Problem is, this rain gauge is not that heavy, and does not have a stand. I did not want to leave it in the grass, but rather wanted it on my deck railing. Luckily there is a tripod screw hole in the rain gauge...but now I needed a male-male tripod screw.So I found these. It is exactly what I needed - but I only needed one. The 1/4" - 1/4" only comes in a two pack, while the 1/4" to 3/8" comes in a single. So now I have an extra one - hope I'll find a use for it someday.As far as the one I did need goes, it works well. Drilled a small hole in my railing, screwed in this adapter, and then screwed the rain gauge on top of it. Now it sits firmly, won't blow away or get knocked over by a playful squirrel, and still allows the water to drain out.They are a bit pricy, for being essentially a screw, but the quality is high, and it's an uncommon sort of part. If you need one, you need one, and this is a good choice.

Buy from Smallrig If you want a quality machined product that have actual aluminum teeth that aren't stripped. They're more expensive, but much better quality.

Quality, well made hardware. I looked at some other brands for these, and many looked like the threads might be a little rough. These are quality metal and nicely machined. A little more expensive than some of the others I've seen, but I think it's worth paying a little bit more to have quality metal and well machined parts. I will happily purchase these again if I need more.

These are great to have on hand. Need to connect two devices with female threads? This is what you need. As with all SmallRig items, it feels premium and well constructed. Recommended.
