I really love this lamp! I hesitated buying it for several months after finding it online because of several negative reviews, but I finally decided to take a chance because I couldn't find anything I liked as much.I'm sooo glad I did. It was super easy to put together and it looks great. I love the transitional style of the swinging arm that gives me the ability to shine the light over my book when I'm reading on my couch.I'm finding more and more that Amazon reviews can't be trusted so I'm posting a pic so you can see I actually own the product.

I like the burlap shade. It brings some warmth to the room. Sturdy base doesn't feel like it will tip on the carpet. My 10 pound kitten has mucked around with the shade a bit and the lamp hasn't toppled.Easy to assemble (screw 2 poles together then into the base, slap on the shade.)This lamp was purchased to provide light for our TV room which only has overly bright overhead lights. I like that I can swivel the shade and swing the arm to direct light as needed. It prefers a 3-way bulb so you can light up your life at 50w, 100w or 150w.My only complaint would echo that of other reviewers: the power switch is in a poor location (up by the bulb) if you have this lamp next to a couch or chair. You obviously have to get on up to switch it on/off/dim/brighten. I've just concluded to leave mine on...I really enjoy having a warm glow in that room.

This floor lamp is just the correct height (48-50") to deliver task lighting over the back of my sofa. Would work for a chair, as well. Contemporary burlap shade gives a "high end" look and it appears that it could have been priced at three times what I paid. Lighting has three way capability for 50-100-150 watt bulb -- but be sure to use one of the new energy saving bulbs. Mine cost $14.00 but will last several years. I would position this lamp in a low traffic area behind the furniture because it may be easy to knock over if kids are running around. I purchased this to solve the problem of my sight impaired husband not being able to see anything on the coffee table in front of my sofa. He eats his dinner while watching TV and we needed light that came from above, but also be out of the way. The lamp and shade can be adjusted laterally and it can be angles up or down. It is working great, and it gives a wonderful muted amber glow to the living room while it gives direct light where we need it. Good purchase for me as it was under $100.

After reading the reviews on this lamp...most of them were good so I decided to order since it was just what I was looking for....I needed more light directly over a little bar cart in the corner of the dining room....It arrived today and I put it together in less than 10 minutes without even looking at the directions.....It is perfect for where I needed it and the shade even matches my burlap Restoration Hardware dining chairs....For the price and getting it in 2 days without leaving my house!...I am very satisfied....I included a picture!

I'm a bit baffled by the negative reviews saying the lamps don't thread together. I had absolutely no issues; the whole "set up" took a few minutes and a few tugs at the cord at the base to ensure there wasn't too much slack in the poles that screwed together. The package came 1 week after I ordered it (I also bought the matching table lamp) for my family room. The floor lamp sits nicely behind the sectional couch we have. I love the look of the floor lamp and the illumination from it and the lamp shade. The lamp bases on both were thin metal, not plastic as others seem to have received. The only reason I knocked off a star was because the on-off switch is a bit awkward and may go to the hardware store to see if I can swap it out. Otherwise, I love the lamps and am happy I didn't drop $300 for one at Pottery Barn like I almost did until I found these.

Finish is nice and it was easy to assemble (the seams in the post disappeared nicely), but I could not get it to stand up straight. I tried it on solid floor and carpet and it kept tilting. The shade and wide swing arm puts it off balance. The base is a weighted plastic disk with a very thin decorative metal cover--it isn't terribly noticeable, but I expected something more solid for the price. The burlap shade had large wads of something resembling dryer lint woven into it.I liked the simple aesthetic and rustic shade (except the lint wads), but the base is under-engineered for the price. Perhaps if it were going to be purely decorative I would have kept it.

I got this light to use at my puzzle table....now turned student's workspace. It gives just the right amount of light off at the right angle! I like that the arm swings so you can adjust the position of it. The lamp shade area also tilts for better positioning of the light.

I am very happy with my purchase. I was looking for a floor lamp that would add light to the small desk I have in the corner of my bedroom - this is perfect. It has an attractive design and provides a great amount of light to be able to work at my desk without another light on in the room. I like this lamp so much I am considering purchasing another one for my living room.

Love this lamp. Easy to assemble, looks great and love the moveable shade. Perfect addition to our living room!
