Crankbrothers Dunarri Speedier Lever , Black

This tire lever is AMAZING. I was skeptical on ordering, so as soon as I got it I immediately tested it on the hardest tire/wheel combo I have ever encountered. I literally broke 4 of my favorite levers getting these set up, and it took 30-40 minutes of hard, frustrating work to get the job done. (Typically to get a tire off, change a tube and remount a tire it is about 1.5- 2 min, rarely more than 5 for a difficult tire and/or rim). I was very nervous to do this test, as I never wanted to experience what I went through to mount these again! A quick look at the lever, and what wasn’t clear in the pictures was immediately obvious in how to use the product, 1 end to remove a tire, the other end to mount the tire. First the removal- which took about 10 minutes with a very good set of levers. Using just one of these the bead was out, off and tire/tube removed in under 20 SECONDS! I could not believe how easy and fast it was. This would be very easy for most women riders I know. Next up mounting- this was unbelievable hard with standard levers, particularly the last 5-6 inches which were crazy tight. Switched tool ends, snapped the tool into the wheel bead, and pulled the tool around the wheel. The tool pushes the bead of the tire over and into the rim as you go, and makes it virtually impossible to pinch the tube, which is particularly great with latex tubes, which is what I use. Up until the last 5 inches it was incredibly fast and easy, but as I got to the crazy hard part it there was definitely more resistance, and I had to use my left hand to assist in pulling the bead up. For me, this was slightly hard, but very manageable. 30 seconds and tire was mounted! I absolutely could not believe. Just to confirm it was not luck, I removed and remounted the tire 3 more times, each one similar or better time than the first effort. I went from the despair of feeling I was going to have to give up on what my research showed was far and away the best tire for my wheel, to the elation that $ 8 bucks can allow me to deal with ANY tire wheel combo quickly and reliably. For easy tire/wheel applications there are a lot of good lever options, but for difficult applications there is nothing better than this tool. While it is light, it is a little bulky, but absolutely worth finding a way to add it to your kit!

I've used 8 inch metal and plastic tire levers for a LONG time and they work OK but you have to be careful with them because it's easy to pinch a tube between the rim and the metal lever. Metal and even plastic levers can also scratch rims pretty quickly and I'd NEVER use a metal lever on a carbon fiber wheel. This Crankbrothers speedier lever is an excellent alternative to metal levers. I've removed and replaced 10 tires with this handy little tool since it arrived. This lever is solidly built, thoughtfully designed and is small enough to keep on a road bike for a field tube change or tire replacement. I utilize re-usable zip ties to speed things up with certain tires (see photo). I'll get one part of the tire and tube seated, zip it in place and move around the tire with this lever and then air up the tire after removing the zip ties. This lever is faster than dual metal levels and easier as well. I also occasionally use water based golf grip solvent as a lubricant for the tire bead - soapy water works as well. It helps the lever slide easier. I'm going to buy a couple more of these for the shop and my other cycle. Hope that helps!

Have been using this for two years, at least twice a year to add and remove spiked ice tires It is a must-have for tight wire beads. I juat uaed it to swap out my fat tires. The somewhat sharper edged install lever and brass-knuckles like grip make pulling the bead up, out and off the rim a lot easier than the small plastic tire levers - without scratching or damaging the rims that may happen using the big metal Park Tool levers (which are a must for really stiff beads). The groove in the tool to install is really handy to slide the bead in the rim without pinching the tube. Again the grip is key to maximizing leverage. For really deep tubeless rims like on my 29er, or even thick wire beads like the CST Toboggan pictured here, this won't be enough. For that I use the long metal Park Tool TL5 levers and the Koolstop grabber for the last few inches of bead.

I bought this when my old Crank Brothers Speed Lever broke. This new Speedier Lever should prove more durable than the old Speed Lever was, because the point of failure of the old one was its long, retractable stem that extended to the wheel hub and used that as a pivot. The Speedier Lever is made of thick, heavy-duty plastic that's bulky enough to provide good grip while zipping a tire on or off the rim. It does that job reasonably well for most tires, and definitely makes the job of fixing a flat or changing a tire faster and easier. Shortcomings? Yes, a few: The removal end can be hard to work in under the tire bead if it's a tight-fitting tire, and, of course, the tighter the tire fits on the rim, the harder it is to work the lever around. In fact, with some tires, like my Schwalbe Marathon Winter tires, which are barely bigger than the wheel (presumably to hold it tenaciously when run at low tire pressures), you'll be huffing and puffing and cussing while trying to zip them on. But believe me, you'll huff and puff and cuss even more trying to mount those tires by hand! The ability to wiggle the lever is a great advantage over the old Speed Lever. Definitely a tool worth having.

First time using this lever was on my lap in the front seat of a support truck after I caught a pinch flat at mile 62 of the FDNY 343 ride. This lever made it extremely easy to change the tube for the 28mm tire on a rim that came with 23mm tires. I was able to rejoin the ride before the next rest stop. I would not hesitate to buy this lever to have at home. While a little more difficult to carry on the bike since it’s larger than standard tire levers I carried mine using the outside Velcro of my gripper bag and had no fear of it falling off. This will become part of my standard kit since it brings so much value.

I purchased this after being stranded on side of road because I couldn't easily remove and install my super tight tires/wheelset combo. When I did finally get the tire installed, I had pinched my tube causing a flat. I tried this - once I really understood how to use it - takes a little practice as they have a slightly different design/approach than other levers, this things works wonderfully. And, I also tried it on not-so-tight installations - and that was ridiculously easy. **Only issue is that its bulkier than normal tire levers but should fit in most saddle bags - it would be great if it collapsed. Total game changer for me - and I also have gained some respect fro CrankBrothers as a company since this is "revolutionary" design - that is, they took a really different approach in designing these levers vs just tweaking the true and tired design that everyone has. 100% tire mounting newb here. I’ve just recently started learning how to dismount/mount tires/tubes. Before this tool I was destroying my palms trying to roll the tire on, or using cheap tire levers that were rolling and pinching tubes. Luckily I’ve never had a flat on the road, but i wanted to learn in case I did. After two tube pops on tpu tubes (expensive), I bought this tool. I just picked up a set of continental tires for my training bike and WOW did that make it easy without risk of damaging a tube or a tire. Leaving this in my riding bag in case I need to fix a flat on the road, because It took about a minute and a half to mount tire/tube, and if you know anything about continental tires, they fit TIGHT. This gives me the confidence to put any tire on in any condition. Super super pleased. Probably the best $5 I’ve spent on a tool. Just BUY IT

I saw this and took a chance on Crank Brothers Speedier Tire Lever. This dual sided tire lever is amazing. I have used it twice now and everyone that has changed a bicycle tire, know the last 8 inches of the bead of the tire is the worst, but the hook for the rim slide put the tire on with ease. Whenever I go out cycling, it is a must have tool to be on the bike ride.

Amended review. Once I popped the beaded edge of the tyre away from the rim into the center, this tool really did the job. Sliding around the flat tyre, taking it off and installing a tyre But popping the tyre away from the edge has to be done by hand and fingers. I couldn't get the lever to help with this.
