Just ordered it...just a few things...
I wanted to type the whole list, but as it was a lot of work, I realized you can link to the digital book online via Bing.com and print it out yourself. This thing is probably the best label restrospective I've ever seen, which helps is Warners is the best major label group ever, the widescreen approach, openmindedness of their execs and A&R reps. I'm looking forward as much to reading the 240-page tome as I am listening to the 320 tracks included. My one quip...the 10-CD version is 199 tracks...roughly 200 let's say, so that's 20 songs per disc on average. This 320-track USB drive deluxe, is 120 tracks more, translated and set up as 20 discs, 16 songs per disc, for double the price...I apologize but that's a ripoff and I'll tell you why. You're not getting double the music for double the price...you're getting 1.6...see, what SHOULD have been included are 400 tracks...2 x 200, 20 songs per disc you make yourself...so you're missing 80 tracks!!!So this is what I am doing...I'm gathering a list of 80 missing artists signed or distributed through Warner Bros, including those who refused, like the Sex Pistols, Kinks, Prince, Enya, the Smiths/Morrissey, even Guns N Roses..."Appetite For Destruction" was on Geffen in 1987, then-distributed by Warner Bros...this set includes artists on labels then thru Warners and not anymore, and I am making 4 bonus discs, or making the 20 discs set up on the USB drive, but adding 4 bonus tracks on each. All in all, this IS a great set, no doubt, but in doing the calculations, stuff is missing and I want to fill in the holes, make it all balance out and give a better overview of the label's history. I know it won't be redone, and all 8000 copies were apparently sold, so I'm doing this for myself...Also, find this for a good price...I paid $69...and fill in the holes yourself, for your own satisfaction.

Upstart Company Produces GREAT Music
After reading the book with the same title, I looked forward to hearing the story. The set doesn't disappoint except in one respect-not every artist that Warner Brothers signed is included. The set would've been a crate otherwise, or longer than ten discs. Packaging is quite impressive as you get the ten discs as well as condensed Revolution in Sound book and it is highly condensed in might add, but the focus her his the music. From the earliest days-Tab Hunter and Connie Stevens (even Ed "Kookie" Byrnnes) to the folk music of Peter, Paul and Mary and the comedy of Bob Newhart (yes THAT Bob Newhart and Allan Sherman (Camp Granada anyone?) Warner Brothers has had a long line of hits that haven't stopped coming. Even in the more modern rock of Van Halen, The Doobie Brothers and others as well as jazz Warners has given us a grand spectrum of music that is still going strong. I anticipate that by their 100th birthday, it'll be hard to determine just who has had what since merging of labels has been so commonplace. Meanwhile we have this set and it has a wonderful load of songs that truly shows what an upstart company can do, even if the original intention was to get their movie soundtracks on the same named label as the movies that hit the screen. By the way, my only disappointment: there was nothing from Jack Webb's one foray into making a record even though he 'talked' the lyrics. A treasure trove of great music worth playing again and again!

The Juke Box interface ices the cake!
This collection of musical and comedy tracks is fascinating! The 50-year span captures an amazing diversity, and features a lot of great music, including many hits. But what really makes this special is the flash drive storage and the beautiful juke box interface. Oh, and then there's that coffee table book in which you can get lost for hours! Look for a deal (like the one I got from Amazon), and buy this set.

A lot of other companies should take this example from Warner Brothers!!
I loved all these songs in one package. Reasonably priced, also!!

Worth every penny
Ive been wanting this set for quite awhile now, but the price was too steep. Got a great deal and the set is worth every penny. I really nice set with a TON of songs on the USB. The book is a great read as well.

Remastering job's a bit sloppy. in addition to...
...the glaring mistake previous reviewer pointed out (thank you!) The sound level is frustratingly uneven, and considering the label has alway paid attention to sound quality from the very beginning, this is quite a let down. Again, comparison to sister company Rhino is inevitable, and in addition to the sound issue, the nonexistence of information about single edits, catalog numbers & chart positions also reflects unfavorably on this set. I gave it 3-star not because what's here is bad at all, but because it could have been so much better.

Excellent, not perfect box
This 10-CD, 199-song box covers 50 years(1958-2008) of Warner Bros Records(including the Reprise & Sire labels) as well as some labels which were once manufactured and distributed by Warners(Capricorn,Geffen,Chrysalis), and luckily the present-day owners or distributors of those labels were willing to license recordings for this box.Almost anybody who was anybody who recorded for these labels is included, however, the absence of Prince,Van Morrison, The Kinks, Black Sabbath, Kraftwerk & Enya fairly glares at you. Presumbably those artists refused permission. The box does rush quickly through the label's first 8 years(on one CD!), but you get a remarkable selection of hits, misses & album tracks covering novelty songs, comedy, MOR, top 40, rock, soul, dance & alternative music and an attractive 64-page booklet. Some have complained about the packaging. The discs fit(very snugly) onto hubs made of a gel material, and it is difficult to get the discs onto or off of these hubs. Disc 5 & disc 10 fit into the package in a way that they sit overlapping onto the other discs, so you will likely not get discs 5 & 10 in pristine condition. However, they played fine.Still, I recommend the set.
