When put together, the staff about 57 inches; or approximately five feet. However, it's shipped in three easy to assemble pieces.

No, I don't believe it is meant to also be used as a skirt. If you know how to sew, you could modify it, but I think with this costume version it is specifically intended to be used as a cape only.

Q: I brought 3t/4t but my daughter is 5, will it be to small?

My six-year-old normally wears a size 6. I bought her the small and it is slightly baggy on her. Depending on what size your daughter normally wears and her build, you might be okay. It seems to run a little big. It's a cute costume, so I hope it works out for her/you!
