After my old XP-pen Star05 finally died on me after many years, it was time to get a new drawing tablet. This new one is a nice and big tablet, runs smoothly, and the buttons are fantastic. The active drawing area alone is larger than the entire size of my old one. No complaints, I love it. Software is easy to set up and the pen pressure is decent. It's wired, so it does need to be plugged in, but the connection is fast and the chord is long. It's also just really cute. I'm so glad I found one in pink, and the price was great. The buttons are customizable which is great. The pen moves smoothly across it and even after taking the protective sheet off (because I was deforming it), there's no scratches on the surface. The replacement nibs fit into the pen holder. They come in a separate bag but you put them inside the pen holder in the little grooves. All you have to do to use it is plug it in and install the driver which you can find easily on the XP-pen website.

I'm going to preface this by saying that I only got my XP-PEN Deco 01 v2 today, so, what I'm going to say is based on a total of around three hours of use so far. If my experience with the tablet or company changes in the coming months, I'll update the review, so, here goes. I use GIMP 2.10.22, and it's been my experience over the past decade I've been using GIMP, that it's usually either really fiddly to set up a tablet with GIMP (unless it's a Wacom, of course), or a tablet straight up just isn't compatible with the software. But with the Deco 01 v2, it was so incredibly easy. All I really had to do was was set the tablet up as normal, and then go into GIMP's input device settings and enable the Eraser function, choose a Brush Dynamics profile, and that was it. I was off and scribbling in about five minutes, when all was said and done. So, I'm super happy with my purchase of their product. This is technically my third tablet, but the first one I've been able to actually get to work with GIMP without any real hassle. First tablet was a Genius MousePen 608, and that KINDA worked with GIMP, but not really (it kept losing cursor position and I'd have to restart GIMP what seemed like every 10 minutes or so to get the cursor tracking back). The next one was a Turcom TS-6580B, and I couldn't get that one to work with GIMP no matter what I did. It's actually still sitting on the chair where I left it almost five years ago. Can't find the pen, though, so it's not really useful, anyway, and it was an active stylus and thus required 1xAAA battery. This drawing tablet is amazing so far. But yeah, the construction seems solid enough, the lit corners for the working area are a nice touch, especially if you're gonna be using it any at night, and having the little shortcut keys on the side is convenient. And I'm not gonna lie; the extras that are included with it certainly make it what I'd consider a decent value (other brands, you should be taking notes from these guys), and it comes at a decent price too, which, of course, is something to consider. The only thing I could mildly complain about is that I wish the PN05 stylus that comes with the Deco 01 v2 had the eraser end, and that could potentially be alleviated by swapping it out for another stylus, but I don't know if any other styluses from XP-PEN (or from anyone else, for that matter) are compatible with the tablet. So, maybe if anyone knows, one way or another, you could let me know in a comment to this review.

Was thinking about getting back into drawing, on my tablet, and after some research, decided on this device. As a beginner, I didn't want to spend a lot, on a drawing tablet, and the XP Pen Deco 01 V2 was on sale. I liked the color, and that it came with some extra accessories. It was a lot bigger than I expected, but not bulky or heavy. Very aesthetically pleasing matte, textured surface. I didn't have to deal with driver installation, initially, since I had my two chrome tablets, and it was very much plug, open drawing app, and play (even on my phone). Installation on my PC was easy, straight from the site. Once on the XP Pen website, I made an account, registered the tablet, and got a code to get ArtRage Lite, for free. Still have to figure out the keys, as I'm not sure they work with any of the apps on my tablet (though it's easy enough to customize them and map them out, on the PC), but no biggie. Still very much getting into the whole, digital art thing, but so far, I am really enjoying the green deco tab.

I use this with aseprite on windows and it's great! Krita it's alright, a little line jitter when slower moving but stabilizer settings can help that. The "paper like" sheet they put in the box is okay and the glove was a little large for my smaller hands. The pencil feels nice as well, I used it for 12 hours straight without feeling like I needed a larger grip.

This is essentially my first drawing tablet and I gotta say, it's very beginner friendly. Having used a mouse and GIMP, it's easy to migrate to after a little time with it and I've quickly noticed it becomes much easier to get at those precision edits and curved angles. I've yet to use it in Sai, but I imagine it's pretty great there. I especially love the extras you get with the kit (protective screen, glove, extra pen tips, a pen holder, usb adapters). The pen has a small, but nice weight to it. Personally, I like that the two buttons positioned on the pen make it easy to click/hold using your thumb without having to lose your hand position and I can easily rotate the pen in a natural manner to avoid accidental button presses. I'm glad it has a soft grip for your fingers to rest on too instead of just hard plastic all over. It just feels good. The tablet itself is also nice and big for its work surface. Its sensitivity can be adjusted via the driver panel. The shortcut buttons on the tablet also make it easier to zoom in/out or undo/redo mistakes. I love it! Seriously, no cons from me or my wallet.

I'm probably one of the few reviewers who got this to replace my pointing device. I suck at drawing, but I wanted to learn, and my mouse at work was bothering me, so I figured I would try this out. Surprisingly, it was basically plug and play with Linux, Fedora 30. I did NOT use it for anything art related at work, just as a pointing and clicking device. The Digimend drivers should work fine for it, just google for them, although configuring specific settings is more advanced, and required me to use the command line, and I'm unsure if there's a way to map the buttons. But for something that supposedly only works for windows and mac, it was great on linux. I have the protector on it in the picture, the keyboard is an Anne pro v2 60%, and the mouse is a Razer Mamba, so you can see the size comparison. Only changes I wish I could make would be allow me to switch between absolute mode and relative mode using the express keys; I think you have to go into the driver gui and click a radio button to pick the mode, but you're unable to bind it to a key. On Linux, I couldn't get the top button on the pen to register at all, so I had to create key binds to do middle click. Other than that, works great, the penholder is super convenient. I actually also ordered the XP-PEN gs640, the smaller one with no buttons, to use at work in relative mode, and that works great as well. This has pressure sensitivity and tilt functions that seem to work great in Krita. Definitely a worthwhile pick up if you're looking for an alternative input device or good quality, inexpensive drawing pad.

I was extremely surprised by this tablet. I use linux(Mint, with a Cinnamon and XFCE environment) and Krita. Prior to this I had a Huion - which is a drivers nightmare, and a single Wacom that's half the size. And this? Oh jeez, the installation was so easy. The drawing performance? Beautiful. Portable, if you make sure to buy the case(or make one, like I did). The screen protector has this *gorgeous* texture to it that almost feels like paper and not slippery glass. (Plus it comes with a screen protector. AFAIK Huion and Wacom you have to buy them separate.) And it feels substantial enough to hold up over time. I bow to the new Tablet overlords of my life. There's only one single thing that would make this better, and it might come on a higher-tier model; a bluetooth dongle.

So far this tablet works great, especially for the price point. I love that i could get it in pink and that it came with a protective thing for the actual tablet that doesn't interfere with the ability to draw/clock the pen. I also really like the pen: it's the same shape as much old one but with a little more weight. I do have some issues with it: The pen pressure isn't as customizable as I would like and the 16384 pressure levels are... very unnecessary. As far as I can tell you cannot make any of the buttons null (as in, not do anything). Physically, not having any separation between working and non-working area is annoying at best, plus the keys being smaller, more flush with the tablet itself (esp with the protective sheet), and closer together in an effort to be more aesthetic causes me to hit the wrong buttons constantly. Months later I really wish I had stuck with Huion, the tablets might not come in colors or be as pretty, but at least they're better to physically use.

Ich habe mir dieses Tablet vor gut 3 Jahren gekauft und verwende es hauptsächlich für digitale Kunst. Meist nutze ich dafür Krita unter Linux. Und hier kommt schon ein großer Pluspunkt: Das Tablet, sowie auch die meisten anderen Produkte von XP-Pen funktionieren nativ unter Linux. Für Druckstärken- und Arbeitsbereichanpassung sollte man sich allerdings den von XP-Pen zur Verfügung gestellten Treiber herunterladen. Ich wsr überrascht, dass Linux hier auch komplett abgedeckt wurde und ich das Tablet nach Belieben konfigurieren konnte. Der Stift ist solide und verfügt über 8192 Druckstufen. Damit lassen sich in Krita oder Clip Studio Paint organische Linien ziehen. Natürlich sei angemerkt, dass die Lernkurve bei einem displaylosen Tablet sehr steil sein kann und man die Hand-Augen-Koordination dafür erstmal trainieren muss. Die Ersatznibs lassen sich für den Stift problemlos hier für wenig Geld ordern, doch bis ein Nib erstmal abgenutzt ist, kann es schonmal ein Jahr dauern. Das Tablet ist also perfekt zum Einstieg geeignet. Durch den fehlenden Bildschirm gibt es kein Parallax und das Gefühl beim Zeichnen ist angenehm. In meinen Augen ist es den Wacom-Äquivalenten vom Komfort und dem Preis deutlich überlegen. Ein noch besseres Gefühl mit dem Stift habe ich mit dem Stylus vom XP-Pen Artist 12, das ich ebenfalls besitze, da dieser gefühlt noch sensibler auf die Druckstufen reagiert. Trotz dem Umstands, dass ich mit dem Artist 12 ein Tablet mit Bildschirm besitze, komme ich immer wieder und auch für den Großteil meiner Zeit zurück auf dieses Modell, weil es schlicht, günstig und effizient ist. Klare Kaufempfehlung von mir! Das gilt im Übrigen auch für die Firma XP-Pen allgemein. Seit Jahren bin ich dort Kunde und wurde nicht enttäuscht, nur immer wieder positiv überrascht.
