Elegant Gentleman's Knife
I am reviewing the black one, which I received today. I already had the brown one, and enjoyed taking that one on hikes. But I got bored with the color. I will continue to take it to the outdoors, but I wanted something different for the office. I generally carry my knife without the clip in the front pocket. One thing I noticed is how nicely it rests in the bottom of my pocket. There is quite a price difference between the two, so it was hard to justify getting the black one too, but I'm happy with my decision. The handle material is beautiful, it is all black, but you will see different reflective patterns depending on how you hold it to the light. The red fittings add a nice pop of color. I thought I would remove the clip, but I like the pop of color, so I'm keeping it, even though I'll probably not use it. The knife came with a fabric pouch with draw-string closure and the Buck logo. I may keep it in the pouch so the clip doesn't scratch or get scratched in my pocket. The knife seems a little too thick to carry clipped in the back pocket. For one-hand openers, flippers are my least favorite, thumb holes are my favorite, so on that score I make a compromise. However, I do like the look of the skeletonize flipper. I would say the handle should be longer, so that my pinky does not feel insecure at the very end of the handle, but considering how snugly it fits in the pocket, I would probably keep the shorter handle. I just tried paring and slicing an apple in my hand, and the sharp, hollow ground blade did not disappoint. I commend Buck and their knife makers for creating this winning beauty.

My Favorite EDC
Love this knife, perfect size for my hand. Really like the look and feel of this knife. The flip action is fast and has a very satisfying snap to it. Easy one had open and close. Very light weight and I've noticed when the scales get wet they don't get slippery like some knives do. Very sharp and with a little work its not to bad to keep sharp. I have 6 EDC knives and this is in my pocket most every day.

Great edc knife, pocket clip…meh
I love this knife, great size, great weight, great flipper action, and great handle and blade materials. This knife has become one of my top 3 all day everyday knives. My only complaint is the pocket clip, it is a little oversized and has a large flare at start, you have to be aware of it to avoid dragging against vehicle interior or exterior, like a mini paint scraper on the outside of your pocket. I will probably spend a little time trying to readjust clips attitude, but a slight redesign by Buck would be nice.

This knife is so amazing! Bought as a gift. (I own the brown [burlap micarta] version and have LUVD it. The carbon handle on this baby feels SOoo great in the hand. The red accents are gorgeous. Opens smoooth!!

Good flipper
Buck is not known for their flippers but this Buck pro is really nice and works well. Nice deep carry clip and of course sharp.

Not perfect but close
I grew up when if you carried a knife it had to be a Buck. I grew up 15 minutes from where they were made so there was a greater degree of partiality for owning a Buck, in other words Buck ruled the contemporary knife world. I had a big gap b being a knife enthusiast so when I returned to collecting I was naturally interested in Buck and was sad to see the were trailing the pack. I watched videos and read reviews and ultimately heard the same final conclusion, nice knife but lacking consistent Q C.. When I saw this model I left my hesitantly behind because I love micarta and the fact that it was a flipper sealed the deal. I was absolutely please with the overall look and function of this knife and would have given it 5 stars had it been delivered with the blade centered. Unfortunately to center the blade causes blade rock so I am going to get over that details and enjoy this light very snappy flipper, keep trying Buck and I will try another.

Weak lock, weak detent. Wanted to love this one...
Dang man. What a sexy knife. Perfect size, sharpest blade, awesome steel. super sexy canvas micarta scales, it even smells great, like a new pool toy. Love the clip and gold anodized aluminum back spacer. I wasn't too concerned about this opening in my pocket, even though you can flip the blade out with a wave or snap. You don't have to touch the flipper as the detent is very light. The deal breaker for me is the thin liners and weak lock up. Specifically, this knife opens and locks open just fine, with very little effort.HOWEVER performing a few light spine strikes on the edge of a silicone ashtray, I managed to fail the lock every time. All it takes is a certain level of impact. Made in USA Buck knife that gets beat by $20 Chinese knives. Super sad. I really wanted to love this one and all the right features are in place except the most important one. It's a hell of a hipster knurd letter opener.I cannot justify spending $100 on an (un)safe queen just to say I have one. RETURNED. Sorry, guys at Buck. Check out a Ganzo, CH, Twosun, Bestech, or Harnds to see what a properly safe tool looks like... (SMH)I really wanted to love this one... sad face! Off to look at Spydercos again...

Great flipper
The burlap micarta handle and the yellow anodized aluminum spacer really sets off the $100 choice on this flipper by Buck. It's a solid knife and smooth as skill. Mine came with the blade perfectly centered and with no issues whatsoever. Great knife from a great company with a great mission statement. If you've not read it...you should.
