Ceramic Bio Filter Media Vast Surface Area for Aquarium Sump Canister (1 Box / 24 pcs)

Aware of what? Well, when you open the package you'll feel like you just dumped a bucket of sand on your host surface. Love the small poor openings, the size is right for my 24 gal Biocube filter area, and you get a lot for your money. They were well packed, but the "sand" (ceramic) came from the media, and it came from the abrasion in shipping. This is not to suggest they were poorly packed, as they are wrapped in two separate groups in tight molded plastic, with foam pads on either end. But it was a bare box in a plastic shipping envelop. Nothing was broken, and they will be a fantastic addition to put in my media basket.

Purchased these to add more bio surface for my 60 gal saltwater fish tank. They fit and worked perfectly in my sump area. It also provided homes for my little amphipods.

Great product. There was a lot more in the box than I thought would be there. I put them in a FX4 by orientating one bask with all the bricks facing up. Then another basket I broke them in half and layed they side ways. If you are breaking them like I did, use a big chisel or flat screw driver. Then you want to rise them. Overall, really good product.

I have used a stacked pile of these inside the filter box of my shrimp aquarium and ammonia and nitrate levels, etc. have been undetectable, which indicates that they apparently work. There appears to be a large surface area, which helps make these work well. I have stacked these in an alternating crisscross fashion to help promote water flow between the blocks.

Ok let me start off by saying that no it doesn't just "melt" or "crumble" easy it definitely doesn't turn to sand an the people that say so check your source because you straight living to others. The box I ordered was from Amazon them self and it's very high quality they are almost like air stones were as when you first soak them they will open up better an be more porus Wich is exactly what you want an il say they are very porus like extremely. They will cut to prices with ease just start a cut with a razor blade an give the blade a good tap will go right threw but I definitely recommend this for a sump or canister filter an the do fit the basket in a fluval 307.
