Damaged Oil Filter
Wix is a good brand oil filter but this is second time Amazon sends the filter in a plastic envelope and of course the filter is bent and the box for the filter is destroyed. Learn, ship oil filters in a box!!!

Only issue I've ever had was a locally purchased Fram filter that had a bad gasket. It leaked oil all over the place
I've used a lot of oil filters in my life, I've always done all my own oil changes.Only issue I've ever had was a locally purchased Fram filter that had a bad gasket. It leaked oil all over the place. I had to replace it after about 200 miles. While I'm not against Fram filters, I've learned a lot from this little mishap. I'll happily spend a bit more for the better Wix filters now.One thing I have noticed is that -some- Wix filters are now coming out of China. Disappointing. This specific one (57502) is stamped "made in USA". I hope Wix doesn't farm out any more production to China....

Only OEM or WIX for me.
WIX has always been a trusted brand. I use these or the OEM 500 series motorcraft filters for my Explorer Sport. I tend to be overly cautious and frequently change my oil, especially with the extra soot produced in the Ecoboost GDI engine and these provide an economic and reliable solution.

Defective filter? (Black glue and dirt inside)
As the title says, black glue and dirt inside. Box appeared previously opened.Update... order another filter, same thing...black glue and dirt inside... I am changing rating from 3 stars to 1 star.

Wix has been my filter of choice for many years
WIX makes what I believe to be the best filters in the business. The longevity of my engines is proof enough for me. High Mileage with zero oil consumption or engine issues is hard to dispute.I look at WIX oil filters as cheap insurance against lubricated engine failures.
