I had never previously tried Oak Honey. It is a unique taste, unlike floral or shop bought honeys. I found it is similar to chestnut honey - rich and malty with a flavour slightly like licorice. I am adding to tea - enhances the flavour, and spreading on toast. It would work well as an addition to savoury dishes. It is thick and a little goes a long way so although it might seem expensive I feel it is good value for the quality of taste and thickness which lasts.
