Loving Luke
The Callie & Kayden captured my heart in the Coincidence series in the same way that Ella and Micha did in the Forever series, so when I found out Luke - Kayden's bff and one of the most interesting supporting characters I've ever read- was getting his own book I was thrilled. When I found out the female lead would be Violet, Callie's mysterious roommate, I was even more intrigued.Let me tell you, the story of Luke and Violet is worth the read. I don't love super dark stories and this one doesn't have a lot- if any- comic relief, so it took me longer to read than a lot of novels do, but I enjoyed it all the same. From the first page questions we've had about Luke since first meeting him are answered as we get some of his backstory to help us better understand him. It's heart wrenching to read what Luke went through as a seven year old and allows us as readers to see Luke through a different light than we may have before. We get a bit of Violet's backstory from the start as well and I'd be lying if I said it didn't make tear up to read about her experience in foster homes. They meet in an unlikely way at a party and despite their reservations and all the walls they each have up, they seem to immediately have a sort of soft spot for one another. Luke is reminded of his sister, who committed suicide and Violet is surprised by his willingness to offer assistance when she needs it, but won't admit she does.I don't want to go into anymore plot detail - you know I hate spoiling anything for anyone, so we'll just focus on the characters now!I'm going to start with Callie and Kayden. It was so great to see them through Luke and Violet's eyes. I always enjoy when Authors make mains characters of one book secondary characters in another because I love getting to see how everyone really sees everyone. I also just loved getting more Callie and Kayden- because, come on! Who wouldn't? Though we don't get to see much of them, that's fine since this isn't their story, but we get to see enough that we know they're still doing well.Seth and Greyson actually play a decently sized role in this novel. Seth, as we recall from earlier books and Luke seemed to click together pretty quickly - initially bonding over their similar vice of smoking. But now we know that Luke parties a lot with Seth and Greyson- who BTW I just love! They've become close enough that they invite Luke to live with them when they find out he has nowhere else to live. Seth is… himself. He's a little too blunt and a bit judgmental of Violet due mostly to how he perceived her treatment of Callie while they shared a dorm. Greyson is a bit more laid back and actually makes an effort to befriend Violet. He be my new favorite of this series.Luke. Luke is withdrawn and dark, but even if he doesn't always see it, he is good. Even if he doesn't always want to, he cares and he's a good friend and he's good to Violet. Sure, he's a bit rough around the edges, with a past like his, who wouldn't be? But there's so much more depth to him than he even likes to admit to.Violet, in my opinion at least, is the most tortured soul that Jessica Sorensen has written about. Ella had her issues for sure, Callie has plenty of issues and so does Nova, but witnessing your parents murder and then being forced from horrible foster home to horrible foster home and then having to deal drugs for your ex-foster parent just to be able to attend college… yeah. She is definitely the most tragic character I think I've ever read about. But that didn't stop me from loving her. She is strong and unique and has more capacity to love and be loved than she knows.I'll admit that the tension and reluctance between the two to actually admit they have something gets a little frustrating - but in a good way. The tension and heat builds and GAH we just want it to happen already! (Love it!)This is the start of a beautiful story and if you haven't read it yet, I definitely recommend that you do.

How could I NOT have loved this book ?! SO AMAZING
One thing I've learned from reading Jessica Sorensen's books is that her stories will definitely pull on your heart strings . I seriously love how "real" these people feel . Like real life people who can experience real life problems . Addressing real issues . Her stories contain sensitive subjects and broken characters that are impossible not to fall in love with . Your heart will also break for them when you read about their circumstances . Violet and Luke are two of those characters . Luke is first introduced in The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden . He is the childhood best friend and college roommate of Kayden Owens . Both of them are football jocks and raging alcoholics . Luke had a traumatic childhood including having to endure situations no child should be forced to do . Involving his crazy mother . Violet is mentioned in the first book but we learn very little about her . She mentions to Callie that she has her own troubles but we don't know about them . Violet is an orphan who was forced to live with a perverted foster parent Preston from age 15 -18 . She had to endure terrible foster families throughout her life . Really gives you a new outlook on what foster life for children could be like .This book was extremely depressing and not intended for the soft hearted . Or I'll just say not intended for people who don't like reading stories of people with harsh lives . If you dont enjoy cliffhangers or books that may not have a happy ending well .. Although this book starts really slow , like many of Jessica's books I was drawn in immediately after reading the Prologue . I loved Luke's character and was hoping his story wasn't as deep as the rest of them . By far , it was just as traumatic as the other books . By fate , Violet and Luke cross paths and you know by the rules of Book Land these two become interested in each other . They seem extremely similar in personality with their sarcasm and smart remarks toward each other . I think that's how they got along so well after awhile .Words cannot describe how I felt about this book . This much is true . I loved this book !! By far one of the best books I've ever read . and I loved The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden . When I continued the series I didn't think anything could've gotten better than that . Then I read this . I can't say which one I enjoyed more that's dang near impossible for me . and I dont know who i loved more , Kayden Owens or Luke Price ? if only i was a giggly school girl again right ?! lol . It is so adorable how Luke and Violet are drawn to each other in these situations where they'd need each other the most . and I especially enjoyed the small cameos of Callie and Kayden re appearing I'm the story . Its like a reminder Jessica gave us that "yes they're still hot for each other but this isn't their story!" Seth as usual is Seth . His giggly gay Sethy self . and being me I couldn't help but still love him !! yes, I loved Seth ! We also meet Greyson (Seth's boyfriend and love interest) . The twist was easy to figure out pretty early on in the book so it wasn't much of a surprise . Going into Luke's amd Violet's minds and world was indeed harsh but I loved this book !

Great Read!
Violet and Luke both have bad pasts, Luke was forced to help his mum take drugs and Violet was only a kid when her parents were murdered while she was still in the house. They have both found a way to leave there pasts behind which consists of not getting close to people, drinking and never letting themselves feel anything but that's about to change when they meet. Both characters are messed up pretty bad when they meet and i loved that they could open up to each other about their experiences. It does take a while for them too but just feeling something for someone else is a big step for both of them. There is a really big twist in the story that just made me gasp! Was a little disappointed when it ended but i'm so glad that their story continues and i can't wait to find out what happens when the book is released. When i first started reading it, i actually couldn't see how Luke and Violet could make anything work with the way they argued and the way they keep their emotions to themselves but it's a fantastic book to read and left me wanting more.

love, hate
Well this book as it all…. Intensity, passion, love, hate, twists, evil, cliffhangers, emotions…Great read and in places depressing, but keep going as you can see how the two main characters interact and how they come to need each other for strength and love.It does take a lot out of you emotionally when you are reading and it may sound cruel but it made me realise just how lucky I am for having the childhood I did and now the adulthood that I do. I said it can be depressing but it does help you to put things into perspective and realise the good things in your own life.Overall a great read, once I was into it I couldn’t put it down and not I’m moving onto the sequel

Great Story
I have really enjoyed this series from Jessica Sorensen. Loved the 1st book in the series, and this story is just as good if not better. Loved, loved, loved Luke and his emotional struggles, and the relatioship between Voilet and Luke was awesome. Regarding the twist in this story, I won't give anything away I saw it coming quite soon on in the story but it still made me gasp with shock which is due to the fabulous writing style of Jessica. I would recommend this story don't wait buy this now you wil not be dissapointed.

So so good!
I love this author, callie & kayden' s story was hard to top but this is so much better, desperately harrowing story with both violet and Luke having horrific childhoods and totally understanding why they are so screwed up, but rooting for them to get together and for them to have a happy ending, fab twist in the story at the end and I'm downloading the next one now as can't wait to continue reading their story
