Review: As close to perfect as dishware can get - I just bought a second set of bowls to add to the first. If you've never used Corelle plates and bowls, you don't know what you're missing. I don't fully understand the engineering behind it, but they've managed to create a kind of ceramic that is incredibly shatter-resistant. As a result they can make these things very thin and light. If you ever do shatter one, look at the exposed edges. You won't find the bubbles and grainy edge found in most ceramics. These are also next to impossible to stain. They are not porous at all. So they are very easy to clean. I've had Corelle plates and bowls many times over the decades. I'm not sure if I've ever had one break. Probably once or twice. And I have dropped them more than a few times. Helps if you have a polymer-based floor like with linoleum. They give enough to allow these to bounce. If you have a hard stone or tile floor, you'll have an easier time shattering these if you knock them off your counter. But I've been surprised at how many times I've seen these just bounce when I thought they were gonners. I've had other plates and bowls along the way. I've seen a lot of them fail. It blows my mind when I see these in restaurants too. They survive well there, despite the typical abuse by wait and kitchen staff. I'm not sure why most restaurants buy such fail-y plates and bowls. Maybe for style. *shrug* Get these if you want practical.

A: We have these bowls. LOVE THEM. They're larger than most so great for big salads. The border is a deep, yet bright red. Not pink or pinkish, at all.

I bought these salad soup bowls on Amazon. It was easier to understand the size than ordering directly through Correl when I ordered directly from the factory, it took them about four weeks to be delivered and they were the wrong size, but I still use them. The other ones were just perfect. I would definitely buy through Amazon again although I tried to get local businesses as much business as I can.
