Danner Trail 2650 3” Waterproof Hiking Shoes for Men - Durable Leather & Textile Upper with Breathable Gore-Tex Lining and Vibram Traction Outsole

I love this shoe. It is very well constructed with high quality materials, it looks good and most importantly it is extremely comfortable. I have osteoarthritis in both of my feet and therefore comfort is the most important feature of any shoe that I purchase. The only caveat is that they do run narrow and I had to order a "EE" wide. Otherwise this has become my favorite shoe and I am a person that has to be very selective in the shoes that I wear because of the problem with my feet.

These shoes were immediately comfortable out of the box and I use hard foot orthotics. The toe box is very comfortable and there is no foot slippage in the shoe while walking up or down dirt/rocky trails. Traction is very good. The shoes feel a bit spongy when walking on hard finished surfaces but is still very comfortable. Hopefully the shoes will last 400 miles and/or one year because of the price! Neither moisture nor heat have been issues thus far.

I love the Danners, they weight much less than a leather hiking boot and if fact weigh less than a lot of athletic shoes, yet they provide good support. The only drawback is the mouth of the shoe is difficult to get your foot in and you should order one full size larger to get them on comfortably. I ordered a size 10 which is my normal shoe size but an 11 fits much better and I wear them daily.

I have started to have a crush on Danner boots. I've been a long time Bates advocate, but since they discontinued my long lasting models years ago (still using my Anti-terror M9 and M6 boots as they still have tread on them and started wearing them in 2004 - yes 16 years . . .) I attribute this to the Vibram soles, but they moved to their own branded soles and they are garbage for wear resistance.I tried Danner's in my police boots and have been impressed so far, so I have tried these for my regular shoes and they are holding up as I expect Vibram soles to wear. Also they look like professional enough to get away with wearing them to district court and they are comfortable too.

I've worn this show about 20 trail hikes and they have felt and performed great. They were pretty expensive but seem very well made and am now very pleased with my purchase

After wearing Adidas Terrex (gortex) for two seasons I opted to give Danner a try. Looks great. Waterproof was better than Terrex which would leak if water reached the laces (but were fine otherwise), no such issues with the Danner. They held up really well in deep mud as well. The inside near top lace can pinch a bit with thin socks but probably just needs to be broken in and I don't feel it with thicker hiking socks. Now, were they worth 2x what the Terrex cost? Probably not. But I like them and I'm happy with my purchase.

Trail Walking and everyday wear

Yoohoo - finally got my first pair of Danner. Read a lot of good reviews over the years about Danner, but none available in Australia, and could not try them. So I was a little unsure about getting them, but very happy that I did. Have been wearing them for about 2 weeks. Extremely comfortable. Nice cushy bounce and surprisingly light despite it's solid and sturdy appearance. Perfect US size 12 fit for me. Great offer price for a Gore-tex hiking shoe.
