Helped me avoid paying a plumber to do a job beyond my skill
In order to repair a leak under the sink I needed to remove the chrome waste pipe which was inserted into the black stub 43 years ago. Unfortunately the two pipes were fused together. A friend suggested I cut the waste pipe at the front of the stub and use a Marvel connector to connect the cut waste pipe to the stub. It worked perfectly!

Elegant solution
Beautiful and durable connection. After installing this product in sink drain to wall connection, my plumber friend said he uses rubber connectors - cheaper and available at big box hardware stores.

This is the trap adapter to get if you need to work on your sink waste lines
Basement bathroom was finally redone last year and finally started draining slowly from both shower and tub. The contractor who completed this renovation decided to swap out all the old exterior plumbing along with the p-trap which had a easy to remove cleanout plug. Good intentions however it made a simple 10 minutes drain cleaning with a electric snake a 2 hour affair. Had to loosen up and remove p-trap, numerous slip buts, tailpiece. I grudgingly completed the snaking and attempted to re-install the old chromed brass p-trap only to find the sink tailpiece was off by 0.25inches making it necessary to reinstall the contractor's "cleanout less" p-trap until I chased down this solid brass adapter. Using this adapter allowed me to re-use my old p-trap or convert over using pvc fittings which are easily removable for drain snaking sessions. This opens up a multitude of replacement parts possibilities. While chromed metal pieces are more attractive the pricing of 1-1/4inch tailpieces are over $15 each time the fine threading corrodes. PVC on the other hand though ugly are inexpensive making it cheap enough to go new each time I have to snake. Be advised this adapter's brass slip nut comes with a brass compression ferrule. This is not a problem as you can swap it out with either a rubber or beveled pvc compression washer easily found in any hardware store.

This saved the day
I installed a new sink only have the worn drain nipple not seal properly. I hated to attempt to remove the nipple as this was 100 year old plumbing and you never know what will happen; something might break.this adapter has deep enough threads to get beyond the worn threads and rusty area; creating a solid leak free fit. Buy it while you can; 1 1/4" is fading out.
