Although my super chewing dog starts tearing this toy apart within an hour or two, I still gave this toy a good rating because the biggest mess is just a few thread strings she manages to pull off, there does not seem to be dangerous pieces nor a mess, and she continues to play tug of war or chew on the remaining pieces for weeks after destruction.

I would give it 5 stars if it didnt have a plastic head and plastic squeaker in tail.

Our medium-sized dog loves this toy. Me, too. It's lasting much longer than the typical "stuffed" toy. It's tough.Like anything that a dog chews on it will eventually come apart, but it'll take allot longer than normal.The toy is also easy to toss to the dog.

This toy's design is great for dogs who love to shake their "prey" and carry it around, but also tend to de-stuff ordinary soft toys. However, I gave it to my foster dog, turned for a few seconds, and by the time I had turned back around, he had ripped the tail part open and gotten the squeaker out! This dog is a power chewer but I still think 10 secs. is a record in my time of owning dogs. If this toy was made with a tough but still soft fabric and strong seams, it would get 5 stars. As it is, you might as well throw $8 in the garbage.

My dog's whole goal with a toy is complete and utter destruction, first by puncturing the squeaker, then ripping the skin off, and then slowly and methodically removing the stuffing. We thought this toy, which has no stuffing and was labeled "durable" would...you know...be durable. This toy lasted all of about 20 minutes of us playing "throw it, shake it, bring it back to me".First, the head caved in (not sure if it was a squeaker, but it caved in and never re-inflated after he bit into it the first time).Then, the tail squeaker got punctured and stopped working the second time we threw it and he returned it.Lastly, he got his molars into the "tough ballistic nylon material that will stand up to aggressive play" and made huge holes in it.Durable for aggressive players? Not so much. I would **not** recommend this toy.

This toy seems durable than most but still not great. The ears were easily chewed off, the seems were eventually ripped apart and eventually resulted in a completely dissected squirrel.
