Bhagavad Gita English

For years I have wanted this guide to the India religion ( not only India but...) . It is finally part of my library . I have only read bits of it and as soon as I finish some of the other books I have gotten for Amazon Kindle I will read it . For the people who enjoy reading and enjoy saving money on good books of all kinds I recommend the Kindle edition of the Bhagavad Gita and others as well. Thank you Amazon

This is an objective translation with non-missionary and non-preaching style. Although the translation, sometimes, falls short of its objective as the Author has gone for verbatim instead of the substance. But Sanskrit being an ancient language and the subject being Philosophical, such shortcomings are acceptable and part of the genre. But the prime objective of the book is to present The Bhagwad Gita in a simple and lucid manner and the author succeeds in that.

Masterpiece on Krishna's work and the magnitude of work is so great that when you read it feels like you were on the battlefield listening to Krishna.

Since he's of Indian descent. He's read this twice & his older brother said he should read it 3 times. This has truly changed his outlook on life & his relationships... all for the better. I cannot wait till he's finished his 3rd reading so that I can read it.

I purchased this version of the Bhagavad Gita intending to read it on my HP Touchpad and Android phone. Sadly, the character mapping has failed to the point that each page displays several square outlines instead of ascii letters. This makes for a disappointing reading experience. I recommend looking for another version. Although the cost of this download is not great and I therefore do not regret trying it, I cannot recommend that others buy this. "A Book of Hindu Scriptures" contains a version of the Bhagavad Gita that does not have issues displaying properly on both aforementioned devices. The cost of that publication was only a few dollars. I noticed that whenever there is an Indian word or name, there are boxes in place of some of the letters. Other than that it seems like an easy read but its impossible to enjoy it when you can't read the entire word of some of the Indian phrases because letters are missing.

I like this Book for giving me insights in some choices we make in life whether it is the right choice or the necessary thing to do for the right justice. Some titles and names however make me search for it meaning somewhere but I like it as a challenge to understand the Book better.

I've read other bhagavad gitas and I can assure this version is a great obra. It's easy to assimilate and comfortable to read. Even my wife, who is christian, is loving the hindu story.
