Seems ideal but just not for my small dogs
White this is just like ones I’ve seen my vet use it just didn’t work for me. It only pushes the pills out a few inches and I need it to be a little more forceful - but I have very difficult dogs.I was so hopeful but, for me, it was a waste to purchase.

Read the low star reviews!
I made an Amazon list of pet pill poppers. Unfortunately I purchased this item in error off of that list. The directions are unreadable due to faded print. The items are cheaply made. And the item is NON returnable. Next time I’ll pay more attention when ordering off a list I’ve made.

Work great! One of the best.
These pill poppers work well. And they come with a round cardboard cylinder to fit over the tips to keep them pressed together. This is necessary to keep the jaws of the tip tight so pills don’t fall out. At first I didn’t know what the round cardboard pieces were for until I put them on the tips. The body of the pill popper is 0.47 inches in diameter so you’ll want to take that into consideration for the size of your pet’s mouth. I have cats and the popper works great on them. The 0.47 diameter body is big enough to hold three small pills or one larger one. I remove the plunger and drop the pills into the center of the body. I make sure the tip (or jaws) are tightly pressed together by the round cardboard piece. To insert the pills into your pets mouth put your hand behind its head and use your fingers to gently coax the animal to open their mouth. It just takes a small amount of pressure pushing against the jaw joint to get the pet to open their mouth. Then quickly inset the popper to back part of the tongue. Don’t go too deep. Then quickly push the plunger in and the pills should be far enough back in the pet’s throat for it to swallow the pills. Remember to hold the pet’s head slightly up. Be gentle. If you use force the animal will instinctively get fearful. You can talk to your pet to help keep them calmer.I’m dosing one cat two times a day with 1 1/2 pills. She takes them well and after it’s finished she acts like she doesn’t even remember what happened. Make the event as stress free so your animal won’t get traumatized by being force fed pills.

Won’t hold up
The tip is flimsy. I had a previous one that lasted years. This one, weeks. But it works.

Flimsy
Cheaply made. End doesn’t stay closed very well so pull falls out

Saved us! Worth every penny.
We bought a few of these of different brands just in case. They all worked the same so it didn't matter which one we got. Our puppy broke his leg on a camping chair....7k later with a very expensive pin in his leg we had to keep our blue heeler, very active puppy on 4 meds multiple times per day for 8 weeks! Ugh! We tried everything from peanut butter (still won't eat it) to canned food, hot dogs, cheese, lunch meat, etc. He would figure out everything with a few days we ended up grinding them up and putting them in everything we could think of and he would figure it out and refuse to eat it. These pill shooters seed my sanity and his. I'd straddle over his back tilting his head up against my legs and you have to go kind of down the throat with the thing before pushing the button. If you don't then it is still in the mouth and on the tongue and they can spit them out. Then I would give him tons of kisses and love after and he'd forget I was forcing pills down completely. He never even fought me it was so quick and painless! Totally worth it!

Disappointed..
Not worth it at all. I was so disappointed. My dog needs to take pills twice a day and the grabber thing doesn’t even hold the pill.

These are great! But have realistic expectations
These work really great, but it takes some practice in order to get them to last. Dogs have incredibly strong jaws so they are eventually going to crack, but once you get the hang of using them, I’ve gotten them to last for several weeks. I would order several so that you have backup. This is not a product that you should expect to last for more than a month, that’s just my opinion. There is only so much that a piece of plastic can withstand. This was a last resort for my situation and they do the job well enough that when I do need more, these are the ones I will be buying again.

The best pill gun for large pills
My dogs picky and won’t eat anything with a pill in it and the only pill guns I’ve found have been small and I had to make due. Well these are amazing. You take the end off and can put multiple pills in it so it only takes one go. This is the absolute best I’ve found especially for large dogs. So much less stressful especially when you get to late in their life and need to give them a pill everyday.

Worth it!
This has made my life so much easier. I bought a different pill popper before which didn't work for the drontal tablets we use as the barrel and outlet were too small. This pill popper was perfect and instead of struggling and giving up after 30mins of torture, I was able to administer the tablets to both my cats in a few minutes.

Too large for cats!
These were presented as being suitable for dogs and cats-upon arrival, these pill poppers are too large for a cat, in my view. Very disappointed.

Poor quality, cheap and nasty not worth it.
Cheap and poor quality, not worth the money, pet barn pet pill poppers are much better quality.

Pretty decent
Bought this for my cat who is currently having to take five pills a day. This works well for both the tablets and the small capsules. It is a bit flimsy. I hold the opening closed tight with an elastic band when not in use otherwise the hole is too big for the pills as it enlarges when you administer the dose and doesn't return to size. That is an easy fix. But he cant bite my hands now and giving the medication is quite a bit easier.
