TRIBUTE Kalmbach Feeds Kalm 'N Ez Pellets for Horse, 50 lb

My Mare Is The Princess.She likes what she likes, and I, as the servant, must provide for her wishes. Bad view from her stall? She must move from that stall! (This has happened more than once!) Feed that is cheaper and not up to standard in taste? Nooooooooo....... (Even the sweet stuff that I mistakenly bought to try to get some powdered bute down her!) Nooooooooo....... Is there a wrinkle in the saddle pad? Nooooooooo....... I must fix it before we go ANYWHERE!! She will point it out with her nose, and I must fix...But the Kalmbach stuff seems to pass muster with her highness. When I show up to feed, she is ears up and deeply nickering that I need to get a move on and pour this stuff into her bucket POST HASTE!! If I take too long, it will take her a moment or two to calm herself and realize that it is ACTUALLY IN THE BUCKET NOW, and she can start eating.Then her highness will touch me with her nose once or twice in acknowledgement of my service.Then she eats.But no. I may not pet her while she eats. And the gelding next door better quit begging or Princess will take him out.

I have been feeding this feed for 12 months now and love it! I have a young thoroughbred that just turned 4 and he is 17.2hh. He is dappled and in a very healthy weight. My vet loves my feed program, and I will not feed anything else!

Despite the cost per bag, dense nutrients contained make this a very cost effective feed! My horses look great!

So I absolutely love tribute feeds and have been very happy with the results I've seen with my gelding. I am also very pleased with the free prime shipping. I have been using this feed for a while now and it has always had a very pleasant and sweet smell to it. I believe on my last order Amazon must have sent me some very old stuff that they needed to get rid of. It had a distinctly different and not fresh smell to it, like old rancid oil. Soybean oil is one of the main ingredients in this feed. My horse even noticed it and began eating his hay first when previously he would gobble his grain up first thing. My horse is not a picky eater and will basically eat anything. I found a sticker the other day on one of the bags that had september of 2015 written on it. I don't know if that was an expiration date...... or a sell by date..... or the date they received the feed from the manufacturer....???? Needless to say I'm not happy and am eager to get through the three bags of "old" feed they sent me last time. My horse has not shown any signs of digestive upset but I can't say that I'm not concerned. I can't help but wonder how the feed manufacturer would feel about Amazon selling stale old product that smells like rancid oil. I don't believe its an accurate representation of the quality and high standards I've come to expect from Kalmbach Feeds. If it happens again Amazon will be loosing my business.

Love the product but it would be helpful to have different color packaging or something that can help you see the difference between the calm n easy pellets, calm n easy GC and the Calm n easy textured. I have ordered the wrong one 2xs now. A little frustrating.
