Dyson Hot+Cool™ AM09 Jet Focus heater and fan, White/Silver

So I was hesitant to purchase this heater/fan initially because of the high price tag but I will say that now that we have it in the house we are absolutely loving it. It is ideally suited for small spaces so we use it to keep our daughters’ bedroom warm during colder months. It does this job exceptionally well- the room stays perfectly comfortable without fear of overheating the girls due to the built in thermostat and the ability to adjust the fan power at a comfortably low setting. This is true for the cooling fan as well. Other fans we’ve used are loud and overpowering and need to be placed in front of a well ventilated area to push cold air out. The intensity of the fans make it too cold to keep on all night. Not so with this fan - again somehow this fan manages to have just the perfect settings so you can adjust it to be cool enough but not overpowering. And we can stick it in front of a wall and it still manages to push cold air out. It is also very safe because unlike other space heaters it does not get hot so you don’t have to worry about little ones burning themselves if they touch it. The things to consider about this unit are the following : it is not well suited for larger spaces like a large open living room- while it will heat the space it will not do it sufficiently enough to feel toasty warm like a larger unit would. It also can not be used as an air conditioning unit for larger spaces - the fan is very effective and does a good job of cooling you in a small space but it does not have a high intensity cooling system like AC units do. Essentially if you have a small space that you need to heat and cool comfortably then this will work well for you. I would say it is best used to heat or cool a child’s room because it is safe, quiet and not overly intense so you never have to worry that your child is too hot or too cold at night while they sleep. That being said as much as we love the unit (and it is really an exceptionally well made and high quality product) we did get it on sale and I’m not sure that we would have bought it at full price, as it is quite expensive for just being a simple fan and heater.

I have this same heater in black that is 5 years old. It still works great but the digital display was missing a few digital readings. It was difficult to figure out the temperature. I bought this one to replace it. (My hubby uses the old one in his office on cold days) I know it’s a great heater & cooling fan. I love the white. It looks great in my sunroom. Would recommend!

I do not write product reviews, but this one deserved the write up. Best product ever if you wish both heat and cold with no noise whatsoever. Sleek look and easy remote. Well worth the price tag,

This fan/ heater is worth every cent. It’s slick design makes it look modern and it takes a little bit of space but don’t be fooled by its size as it works well. Both (heating and cooling) do its job. I like that you have options of tilting, rotation and stand still. The remote has air all. I recommend

DO NOT buy a refurbished unit unless Celsius or Fahrenheit doesn’t matter for you. A Dyson refurbished unit would likely be a very reliable choice. But the display cannot be changed on the refurbished units from C to F. We now have the hassle with repackaging and returning. We contacted Dyson support directly, after failing to find how to change it, in user manual or online search.

This is a great fan... so great that I ordered a 2nd one, despite the ridiculously awful high price. I have a lot of rental properties, and use this in a home in the mountains where I used to have 5 Dyson AM07 fans... they're just really tall and don't have the heater function. What I'd really like to see is for Dyson to put all of these fans into one package: air purifying, humidifying, heat/cool fan. BTW this fan is so quiet compared to the AM07, so their claims for being quieter are very much true. I like that it's smaller... and I like the remote with the timer... the heat it puts out is great, and the fact that you can make it a wide beam of hot air or a focused single beam of hot air with the touch of a button is very nice.Just have to focus on the pricing of their products, and they'd probably sell many, many more... it's not a complicated or expensive item to build...

As an esthetician where you are waxing and doing facials all day it gets VERY hot in the rooms. We are in a suite where we cannot control the thermostat and this fan definitely helps keep us cool!

I bought one of these years ago for my home office. The primary thing I was looking for was a quiet fan so it wouldn't bother me or be heard over the phone in meetings. Being a fan and heater was a benefit I didn't think about much at first other than something to justify the high price tag. The small footprint is also very nice. It's worked great. It works wonderfully. My wife was talking about buying a new heater for her office before Christmas so I took that as an opportunity to buy another one. She was amazed at how quiet it was. I think she's happy with it.

I purchased this heater for a large sun-room that is quite cold in the winter months. It is a large space to heat but this does the job well. It's quiet and stylish. So quiet that I have sometimes forgotten to switch it off, although that can be solved with the timer feature. It provides a heat that does not dry out the atmosphere. The heater is well constructed and easy to move to a different location. It's not as cheap as some similar products but you get what you pay for.

This is my first Dyson purchase. Im so happy with it! The heating feature on this fan is awesome. it warms a room in minutes. It stays on until the room is warmed to the desired temp and then shuts off. it will turn back on when it starts to cool. The cool aspect of this fan goes up to 10 speed settings. and has all the usual options for a fan - timer, oscillation, and tilt. It also has an option to direct the air through the room or straight shot on to you. And it comes with a handy remote! I will never buy another brand of fan ever! Once you go Dyson, you won't want anything else.

What can I say other than this fan is brilliant - its my new best friend! It looks great, easy to move around. The remote is fabulous; the timer function is very useful. Not tried the heat function yet. The cool function is very versatile, love how you can change the angle of the air flow. The fan is quite on the lower settings but does become a little noisy on the higher settings - not a problem for me as it is MUCH quieter than my old fan. My only niggle is the light on the display - its quite bright which is ok during the day but not particularly at nighttime. Although expensive it is worth every penny - everyone should have one!
