It works !!
A very cost effective way to replace my malfunctioning temp sensor on my Gulfstream Heat pump pool heater. Factory sensor is located in the inner housing of the heat pump and would have required removal of the top of the heater enclosure and hanging upside down like a Bat to unscrew the old sensor. I simply left the old sensor in place and drilled a 3/8 inch hole in the top of the 2 inch inlet pipe on the outside of the heater just before it entered the enclosure. I routed the wires thru the bottom of the enclosure and into the control panel. This took about 10 minutes from start to finish. Water temp readings were spot on with a comparison to a digital thermometer that I use to check my steaks when I am grilling. More importantly, the pool heater now springs to life and functions as it should.

Spa/pool water temp sensor.
It took a few weeks to arrive, but it was a Pentaire part not a cheaper version. Wasn't hard to install just a little patience.

Lasted 6 years. Good value IMO
Giving it four stars but not sure if I should It was a perfect substitution into my Pentair easytouch system It stopped working after 6 years. When I pulled it out to replace it, the sensor housing was cracked. So take that information for what it is. It's about 6x less expensive than the OEM version so I think it was worth the price.

OEM replacement water sensor for the pool
Works fine but takes a bit of work to install. The cord needs to be brought into the pool computer from the pool water system. Not too happy with the price ($50) though. I it ever fails, I'm going to try to replace it with an aftermarket sensor.

Perfect solution for a necessary consumable.
I was having trouble understanding why bathers were complaining about the water temp when the Pentair system noted a balmy 83 degrees. It wasn't until the system started announcing a steady rise in temperature in rather cool air conditions over a couple of days when I became suspicious and tested with a digital meat thermometer. Sure enough, the systems was off by 8 degrees on the high side. I compensated by calling for an additional 8 degrees (91) and kicked the preverbal can until I got around to it. The next day the system was suggesting 104 degrees which was well out of the range of can kicking. I tried multiple local pool stores to find an in-stock replacement, to no avail. One could be ordered for delivery in 3-10 days, and ranged from $35-$85. The immediate problem was getting the water temperature up. I took a gamble and swapped out the air temperature probe for the existing water temp probe and, sure enough, the probes are the same and it allowed the system to call for heat from the heater. I did have to adjust the SETTINGS within the controller to calibrate the old air sensor to the current water temperature. Like an idiot, I failed to take a picture of the existing wiring before removing both probes, so when I went to wire the Air probe to the water side of the control board, I couldn't remember which wire went where. The inside of the door to the system had a schematics diagram and luckily it noted that two probe leads are interchangeable; it didn't matter which way they were wired - I definitely caught a break. Even though I was back up and running, I wanted to replace the probe because I didn't know how much longer the air probe had in it. This probe came in 2 days and was a breeze to install. Yes, it did require the existing hole in the pipe to be drilled out to 3/8" of an inch. No, it was not the least bit difficult. I guess I would argue that if drilling out the hole gives you hesitation, you may want to leave this repair to a pool guy because it is the easiest part of the process. Overall I am quite happy with the product. I did end up ordering another probe because with the hole being expanded, the OEM probe will be too small. If something should happen to this product (like it goes out of production), I don't want to have to start replacing piping.

Saved me LOTS!
Started noticing that the temperature that was being reported on my pool controller was way off, so I Googled a bit and found that this temperature sensor was likely to blame. I found a YouTube video showing me how to change it out and I felt confident I could do the repair myself, so I ordered this item from Amazon. Thirty minutes total to change it out (including securing the wire all the way from the sensor to the controller panel) and it works perfectly! Saved me an expensive service call!

Great product but the Pictured newer style is a different sized drill hole from older style. Please check which style you have first. Newer style is easy to install into older smaller hole. But if older style is received to replace a newer version, while both styles work the same the newer style hole will be to big and may leak.

Durable and accurate sensor
After getting 18 years out of the original air temperature sensor, it started reporting the outside air at 150 degrees. I bought one of these to replace it. A couple years later, the water temperature sensor (also this same part) went out, so I purchased another one of these. I figure for that kind of lifetime it's worth getting the original brand rather than a knockoff. If you are troubleshooting a sensor failure, first try swapping the air and the water temperature sensor leads in your equipment panel (if you have both). If the problem moves, you know it is just the sensor that needs to be replaced. If both go out at the same time, your control board probably needs maintenance. If you are using this as a water sensor, don't forget to lubricate the included O-ring before inserting the sensor probe into the pipe. I neglected that step the first time and water sprayed everywhere, despite tightening the hose clamp firmly. The hose clamp in not included, so be sure to save your existing clamp.

Worked perfectly - drop in replacement
My original temperature sensor developed a crack in the case which allowed water to be forced though and drip on the floor of my pump room. After realizing it was the sensor that was cracked and not the pipe I ordered this sensor as replacement, and it worked perfectly.
