Wired into a pickup winder
I purchased this digital counter (1-9999) to count winds in a guitar pickup coil winder. I used a reed switch (Normally Open) on a wheel to activate it. I have tested it at 1200 RPM and I doesn't miss a beat. I am sure it will count faster, but I don't need faster. It was easy to install and hook up. Very reasonable pricing and it works like a dream. Counts 1 to 9999, has a reset button but retains the count if you loose power(nice feature). The numbers are 1/2" red or blue LED. Operates on 12V DC though I am using a 9V adaptor and a motor controller that turns my motor at 1200 RPM @ 3.5V DC. So I will operate on a wide range of DC voltage. Comes with schematic diagram of wiring hook up.

Simple to Use Up Down Tally Counter
This is an electronic Up/Down Counter with reset. It does exactly what it claims, no more, no less. Operation is pretty simple Apply DC Power 5-24 VDC (it has an internal regulator that regulates the internal DC power to +3 VDC for the on-board electronics & display). You reset the count to zero by closing the reset circuit (shorting it to logic ground). The reset occurs with the reset line held logic low (ground) or momentarily low. As long as the reset line is low the display reads "0000" and there is no counting. There are separate "count up" and "count down" lines. Connecting one to the input Voltage source causes the count to count up or down 1 digit for each rising edge. The display is reasonably bright and the device is easy to wire up. It comes with the mating connectors and wires attached that are about 7" long. The control/driver on the board is not labeled so I do not know what its part number is.Because there is no counter data latch control, the only way to measure something like RPM or counts per minute is to externally reset the counter, then enable the count up input for the relevant time period (such as 1 minute for RPM or counts per minute) and at the end of that period disable the count up input without resetting the counter. The counter does exactly what it claims to do - I had just hoped that there was an internal counter output latch control so I could more easily use this for RPM or counts per minute.

Excellent Counter Digital..!!!
Years ago, when developing a electronic project and if you need a digital counter; you had to built one as asubproject ... this was my case when I studied and worked in electronics. Now, I bought this digital counter waiting a minimum performance for an electronics project. But this devicewas totally more than I expected. It comes with the manual where indicates clearly how to install it.Other point that I like about this device is capacity to go backward. I mean that you can install a switch like a sensor and go counting -and/or- with another switch sensor you can go countdown.Excellent..!!!!
