Such a compelling book...truly riveting!
I couldn’t put this book down! The story is deeply moving and incredibly authentic, offering powerful insight into the struggles of the Polish people during WWII and the challenges faced by families navigating life with a loved one on the autism spectrum. While these themes may seem worlds apart, the author masterfully intertwines them into a truly unforgettable narrative. This is one you won’t want to miss!

Important
This is an important book ... one that tells a heart-wrenching story. I think it's vital that we read stories of love and tragedy that happened during World War II. This is so much more than you ever learned in school.

Great book
I really enjoyed this one. It’s told in a dual timeline, with the past taking place during WWII. The last two chapters were my favorite. I found this to be an interesting and unique read. Not quite a five-star read for me mostly due to my own timing in reading it. I’m a teacher and started it near the end of the school year. I was too exhausted to read most of the time so it took me a very long time to finish. But great book overall.

Heartbreaking yet heartwarming
First Kelly Rimmer book I've read and I wasn't sure what to expect. WOW! I love history being woven into books/novels and this was such a heartbreaking tale yet at the same time very heartwarming to see how true love stays with a person and how when necessary, it can push a person forward

Sad,Happy and Hopeful
What a roller coaster ride this story takes. I love this story of excitement, action, romance and faith. It was heartwarming and courageous . I didn’t think it would have such an impact on me. I will share it and hold the love and joy of overcoming despair.

Outstanding Book!
This book gets 5 stars from me and I recommend it to anyone who likes reading historical fiction and books about the Holocaust and the years leading up to it. Kelly Rimmer is a gifted writer that develops characters so well that you feel the emotions they did in the story. The dual time line worked really for this story. I'll be looking for more books written by Kelly Rimmer!!

So Much to Ponder
This book stole my heart and mind telling another gripping story of WWIi. Though fiction, it tied together the whole of the Polish war experience yet offered twists and turns that kept me reading late into the night. Their story will stay with me forever. The fact that the evil of anti-semetism still exists haunts me.

well written
Good use of story of individuals to tell Poland’s story during Nazi control. I found the great love a bit over whelming and unrealistic but could imagine two young people who shared such tragedies being loyal to each other. I just couldn’t buy that it wasn’t a true marriage after 60 plus years.
