Orbit Port-A-Rain Sprinkler Head

These don't water a wide area like a sprinkler so require careful placement and adjustment to get good results. I got them to replace soaker hoses for my hydrangia garden. Soakers were always breaking. These small Obits connected by short lengths of hose put the water just where needed. You may need a "Y" splitter (or two) to adjust water pressure. I cut a longer hose into shorter lengths and capped the ends with male or female connectors which I got at the local hardward store. Used metal tent pegs to secure the Orbits in place. Whole set up is a custom, water sparing, irrigation system. Great product.

I have a narrow strip I want to water. I tried three more expensive sprinklers with short hoses connecting in a line, but the first ran great, the second a drizzle, the third a fizzle. They were not adjustable and did not work in a line. these Port-a-rain yard watering sprinklers are adjustable for volume. By turning in the screw I was able to lower the volume of the first in the line a lot, the second a little and left the 3rd as was. this way all 3 ran the same volume water. Perfect coverage with no wasted water or wasted time constantly moving sprinklers.

Thought it would have more pressure.

They must have changed the adjustability of the sprinkler head from 2 yrs ago. It's terrible now. The center screw does nothing for volume but does change the spray pattern. It can be changed from a nice even spray in all directions (set on 360 degrees) to a 4 corner heavy stream with little spray in between (360 pattern). Very disappointed!

I searched garden centers and big box stores in town and couldn't find these sprinklers. Found them quickly on Amazon and ordered them. They were delivered on the day anticipated.

I had 2 of these that were only a year old and wanted to add another to the hose line. After installing and adjusting the nozzle many times I can't get it's spray pattern to match the other 2. It seems as though the new one flows a lot more than the old ones.
