Very useful with the PRESET function
I ordered this product for it's "preset" function, which allows me to preset max 9.9 hours to start cooking as I like. Since I received this product a week ago, I've been using it to cook meal set very often. I usually use one small pot for rice, one for soup and one for other food for the meal set. Sometimes I stew some food in the big pot. It's very useful. With this product and other thermal lunch containers I bought separately, every morning, I'll be able to have hot healthy food ready for my husband and daughter to take and enjoy hot lunch at work and at school.Yeah! But please be aware that if you want you meal cooked by 7 am, and you set the 2-hour cook time, you should allow the cooker about an hour to boil the water before it starts to count down the cook time. Which means, if you prepare everything before you go to bed at 9 pm, and you want your meal ready at 7am in the morning, the cook time is 2-hour, then you should preset 7 hours to start cooking. From 9pm to 7am, which is exactly 7+1+2=10 hours. However, if you're buying this for a family of two, I suggest you buy a smaller model, coz this would be quite big for you. However, I contacted the dealer and was told that only this model and the burgundy-color one (the same size) have the "PRESET“ function. If you don't care about that function, the smaller one is very nice, too.

Works well when I can figure out how it works but...
Works well when I can figure out how it works. When the light is on that means its on standby which is just like being off and when it works and is cooking the light is off. Does that make any sense to anyone? Can barely figure out how it works, but think I got the second button where you manually set the time to get it to cook down. The instructions are the worst I've ever read, the recipes are in Japanese so they are useless unless you can understand the language. Am not confident that I can tell you I know how to use the cooker/steamer even after owning it for a few months, but when I can get it working it's not bad, cooks well. The only problem is (and I qualify this because I may just not be doing something right) but from testing it, the only way you can get rice to cook is to leave the ceramic top off, but the whole reason I got it was to protect it by steaming it within ceramic because I thought it would be safer than exposing it to aluminum or heated plastic due to BPA or BPA Free carcinogens. Well who needs safety because you have to expose the rice to the plastic cover, yay. Frustrating. If there was a way to maybe find a ceramic cover with steam holes that might help but I doubt it because it still does't steam if I take the ceramic cover off a bit so it leaves a slit opened. Disappointed.

Get this steamer!
This product is awesome! I got it a week or two ago and I've been using it every meal! Some of the down sides to this steamer is that it is VERY confusing at first to work. The manual itself is very vague and maze-like. The steamer buttons doesnt have a start button. Also it takes a while for the actual water to heat. However overall the steamer is great! You have to plan your meals ahead to work with the wait, but the pots are very cute and surprisingly it holds a lot! No kidding, one pot can feed me rice three to four times. Also, it automatically goes to keep warm when your food is finished, so it doesnt get cold afterwards but doesnt over cook it.If you're thinking about getting this item, do it you wont be disappointed!
