Best Flavor of the Best Ramen Brands
Nongshim, do NOT ever change or discontinue this product! I consider myself a ramen/r[l]amyeon connoisseur and I've tried nearly every ramen Nongshim has on the market here in the USA. The vegan veggie by far is the BEST of all the company has to offer. First, we start with the noodle. It has a phenomenal mouth-feel to it. Unlike other noodles that get mushy if they soak up the broth, this noodle remains al dente and still has a good, firm texture that satisfies the pleasure of eating, as well as fills the tummy! The broth. I honestly wasn't expecting a spicy broth, but uh...it's Korean, so what was I thinking? The surprise was a pleasant one. I was expecting a slightly bland vegetable broth, but Nongshim makes a home run with a broth that bites back. Add a few fresh vegetables or top this off with a fried egg and you've got a perfect comfort food that is filling and warming for winter night munchies. Even in the summer, the broth is so clean on the palate and refreshing that a side of avocado or sliced cucumbers would make this a vegan dream!Customer Warning: This is a Korean ramen, hence it is spicy. I've eaten Nongshim's spiciest and thought I'd wind up with blisters on my lips! (It was a good spicy, still.) So, I've run the scale of spiciness with this brand. If you shy away from buffalo wings or the idea of cracked red pepper on your pizza or Italian dish is not an option, this may not be for you. Do NOT expect a mild chicken soup flavor. In Korea, THIS is MILD because Korean dishes are typically so hot that Americans often have trouble eating there when touring. Still, this is a good place to start if you want to build up your tolerance to spicy Korean foods. Start here and work your way up. Step away from Top Ramen and Maruchan. While they're cheaper, you get what you pay for (and I grew up on those two). Even if you can't handle spice, try this anyway. You'll get used to it. I did.

Tasty broth, chunky vegetables, excellent instant ramen
I purchased the Veggie variety at a very reasonable price and am quite impressed. Fortunately, I read the nutritional information prior to having it for lunch, so I realized that the sodium content is way too high, even when I eat the 1/2 package. You see, this is a 2 serving package. This is labeled as "Mild" but be advised that although being made in the USA, the style is Korean which is spicier than the Japanese ramen. The noodles are long, wrapped into a circular form, and are some of the best packaged I've had in an instant type package. For the first package, I did use the entire granulated spice packet and it makes a very tasty broth, enhanced by the vegetables and fried egg I added. I have many ideas for using the broth packet, so it won't be wasted. I will be checking on the price fluctuations for this product because right now, it's much higher than I'd pay in normal times. The vegan instant soup is likely too spicy for young children who are accustomed to eating the chicken flavored ramen which are so popular in the USA.

gourmet ramen? not an oxymoron
gourmet ramen? is that an oxymoron?nope.this is the real deal, this ramen has a texture that is unmatched. the seasoning is SO GOOD that I hoard extra packets or portions of packets and use this seasoning as an all purpose addition to other foods that I'm cooking or eating.I've tried so many types and brands of ramen, but I just can't find even one that is close to this brand and flavor.it's a bit hot, so if you don't like pepper, you might want to use less of the flavor packet while cooking.where this brand shines is the unique texture, it doesn't have that mushy or overly soft texture that is found in so many domestic ramen and even international brands. this one has a decent bite to it, so it really fills you up, and feels satisfying when you eat it. a true meal.this stuff is so good that after a long hard day at work, a hearty bowl of this soup is an awesome meal to quickly cook and enjoy while watching Dramafever and unwinding.the price that it's listed at now (approximately $1 per packet) is better than the local Asian markets or anywhere else online. the price can fluctuate, so if you see it @ or around $1 per pack, that's the best deal, and I encourage you to go ahead and try it. i've got it on subscribe & save because it's at the affordable price right now.this is ramen you feel good eating, proud serving or sharing with friends.

Shipping by USPS sucks
Great product, my favorite Ramen noodles, but this time it was shipped in USPS box and they played football with the package before delivery! Usually my noodles comes in an Amazon box, all nice and safe, but this time I will be eating crushed noodles!

Spicy deliciousness
If this is mild I will never be able to eat traditionally spiced Korean food. That would be like eating a habanero whole.I use about half the soup base packet which is just about the perfect heat for my sensitive taste buds. By adding fresh cut vegetables like zucchini, carrots, green onions, and napa cabbage, I build flavor and add nutrition. I like to throw in some ginger for my favorite bit of kick. Watching Korean shows I’ve learned they like side dishes so I’ve begun eating pickled vegetables, Japanese pickled ginger, and whatever else suits my fancy along with this spicy noodle soup.To build a quick meal I prep the vegetables first then begin cooking the meat. In the 15-20 minutes it takes to cook and rest a piece of meat I build the soup. I also like tofu because it absorbs the soup flavor. With enough extra protein and vegetables, it can easily be a meal for more than just 2 (or satisfy 1 growing teenager LOL)These noodles come in a round form instead of the traditional square noodles like Sapporo brand. They take about 5 minutes to cook and are shorter than Sapporo ramen noodles so I don’t break them in half.
