Sir Scallywag and the Golden Underpants Paperback – International Edition, March 27, 2012

I chased Korky Paul, the illustrator, around after reading Winnie the Witch and found this book. Couldn't be more pleased. Paul spends an enormous amount of time putting details into his illustrations and that makes for an awful lot of special interest on each page for the kids. Just counting up all of the BVD symbols will take several nights and days. If you ever get tired of reading the wonderful, tight, funny text - then you can invent games w Paul's detail. This is not a worthless, little, over hyped 'popular' book (except for my hyping of course - all of which is true). After being stuck with a large stack of books that make you wonder how the author ever got published this book is a breath of fresh air and will have a life - reaching over generations. Lucky publisher for finding these two guys.Originally purchased for me before having to hand it over to a couple of 3 year olds.

I received an absolutely beautiful copy of 'Sir Scallywag and the Golden Underpants' book from seller Daedalus Books purchased through Amazon's marketplace. The book arrived in mint condition.The book itself is beautifully illustrated with vibrant colors and delightfully drawn characters which will definitely appeal to my soon to be 3 year old grandson. This is a real family pleaser story too!After presenting this book to my grandson I can definitely say that 'Sir Scallywag and the Golden Underpants' is a real keeper. We have read it at least twice a day now.

This is another book my grandsons like - maybe because it is a tiny bit "naughty".

Kids like the CD that they can listen to independently. Everybody loves these books.

Funny, lighthearted book. Although the king's bum was a bit much!

My grandson loved it and instantly wanted it read again.

I had to giggle at the title. Only can children's books get away with such a curious title grabber. Then you begin to read the book and realize that King Colin is over the top, not just a little bit, but waaaay over the top and the title does not seem so out of place at all.The characters are engaging - picture Russell Brand with golden underpants. Now I know that sounds too much for 4 - 7 year olds, but they will not know who Brand is and you the reader will get an extra chuckle. If you or your child is easily offended, then this is not the book for you, but if you like to laugh aloud with your young ones and point out all of the fun illustrations, then continue with this book.After a mighty giant has stolen the golden underpants, the king has sent for his bravest knight of all, six year old Sir Scallywag. His mission, find the underpants of gold, before the royal bottom gets cold. Second thought, maybe this is not a book to read to your classroom, but do continue for yourself.As the bully, I mean giant, comes to town to do battle with the golden underpants upon his head, Sir Scallywag and his horse Doofus devise a plan to get back the golden underpants to save the royal bottom."So boys and girls remember this,Although you might be smallHave courage and you too can beTHE BRAVEST KNIGHT OF ALL"

Got this book for Y1 writing stimulus and the kids loved it. Got some great stories from it.

Bought for our pirate and knight loving son. Great story but the illustrations are a bit off for us. My daughter doesn’t like it at bedtime because of the pictures but the story she will listen to happily.

Highly amusing with detailed & original illustrations. Large enough clear text. CD includes 2 similar text readings of different lengths (British `public school' male accent).Supplied by Brit Books who are reliable & responsive. Many of their books are very reasonably priced. This book & CD arrived in very good condition within 12 days (incl. w/e) @ <€4 full cost.

This is a very silly book. I like the rhyme scheme and my daughter likes the underpants on the giants head.
