Can lids go in microwave ?

I do put the lids on top of the food in the microwave, but only after covering the dish with a paper towel or setting the lid askew. Otherwise, the fit is so good that as the food heats a vacuum seal is formed and the lid will be stuck to the glass, potentially misshaping it.
