Dorman 955-1788 Passenger Side Power Door Mirror - Heated / Folding Compatible with Select Mitsubishi Models, Black

Needed to replaced a busted up passenger side mirror on 2009 Mitsubishi Galant. Looks pretty much the same as what you get from the manufacture only caveat is the base (triangular part) doesn't sit nearly as flush as manufacture's, but it really is super minimal. Like that it comes in a matted black finish so it is easier to ready to custom paint. Currently not custom painting it but when I do I don't want to have to deal with removing a varnish. To address a couple of items that others have decided to review the product lowly for...1) MY mirror didn't come with any rubber "nuts" it came with some rubber screw protectors. It seemed pretty obvious to me what they were and what they did but to be fair if you didn't know what they were/did you could think they were nuts and use them to "fasten" the mirror to your car. The rubber protectors ARE on their pretty tightly. But lets say that someone DID actually receive real rubber nuts (they exist, I've used them in other applications) common sense should indicate to YOU the consumer that if the mirror you are replacing had metal nuts that you should replace them with either the same nuts or similar metal nuts. So don't be all NUTS (<----see what I did there?) and fault the seller/manufacture of this mirror because you made the decision to use rubber to fasten a item to a thing that moves over different terrain on a normal basis.2) The "folding" aspect of the mirror. To be fair to those that complained they are right it doesn't fold and all but one have not stated WHY they wanted the damn mirror to fold. The one that wanted it to fold indicated that the "folding" aspect would help it not be damaged if it hit into something. Newsflash, that's not how it works. Their supposed to fold in either manually or automatically to protect them when parked in tight spaces so passing cars don't clip them and for car washes. If you hit stuff with your mirror the folding aspect isn't going to stop it from being damaged, that feature isn't some kind of airbag feature for side mirrors. Personally my car does not have the power folding feature and I wouldn't use it if it did.This is a solid mirror for a good price.

Didn’t think I’d be such a repeat customer, but I park on the street and my car has been sideswiped three times in the last three years and one broke off in a carwash. 🤬 This mirror is as sturdy as and works as well as the OEM. To be honest, the OEM isn’t a great design because the mirror doesn’t have any give, so it doesn’t take much to break it off. But this one functions as well. This mirror is a great price and ships fast.I think most can probably do the install themselves with some patience and some help from YouTube. Removing/replacing the door panel is the toughest part (unfortunately required to access the cable and connector). Last one took me about 30 minutes start to finish. But like I said, I’ve had a lot of practice. 🙄It only comes in black, ready to be repainted. My car is grey, and I planned to repaint it the first time, but needed to get it installed right away so I could get back on the road. As luck would have it, the other side broke off in a carwash about two weeks later (again, very poor OEM design). So, I ordered another, put it on, and decided that the black looks fine with grey. Good thing, too, because I would end up replacing another pretty soon.Recommend this seller and product!

Very easy to install it took only a few minutes and it made my sister very very happy it was the best Christmas gift she got thank you Amazon!

The hardest part of the installation is the interior door panel removal and reinstallation. There's a video on YouTube that explains that process very well. Be careful as the door panel is a cheap and fragile piece of crap.UPDATE: The included rubber nuts failed during the first automated car wash. The metal bolts stripped the rubber nuts right off. I went to my local ACE Hardware and bought metal nuts for 25 cents each. Because Dorman was being a cheap bastard, I docked a star. Otherwise, it would have been 5 stars. If you buy this mirror, keep your metal nuts!

It is easy to install. Fits perfect. Good price. Came in on time. The only down side is that it only comes in black it would be easier if they had the options of black or black for the customers
