new and improved
I've reviewed these switches and their sister products a number of times since they first came out. These are awesome. These are the next logical step once you realize that smart light bulbs are very stupid once you turn off the light switch. As for the use of these switches, I love them. I have around 40 of these installed. Some are the fan switches, some are dimmers, some are regular switches. Most are paddle switches, but some are the traditional switch. This earlier versions of this suffered from a couple of problems they have resolved with these.1. The earlier ones took up an entire switch blank in a box all the way to the back just about. There just wasn't enough room left in the box for wiring after you put one of these in and don't even try it with a quad box. These are probably about 3/4 of an inch thinner front to back which leaves more room for the actual wires.2. The earlier version cared which wires you connected to which port on the back of the switch. This still cares about the ground, neutral, and traveler wire ( if you are using in a 3 way circuit ). But as far as the load and the line wires, it doesn't seem to care. This makes it easier if you don't have a tester to tell you which one is which. But seriously you need a tester so you know which wires you are dealing with, it's only safety you are talking about.3. The old version had led lights on the paddle switches, but not on the toggle switches. The LED's are still in the bottom corner of the paddle switches, but now the actual switch on the toggle switches lights up. You can still configure it to turn that little light on when the light is on, off, or disable it.All in all I like the changes they made. The earlier versions were prone to failing in my house. It could be my house wiring since it was the same switches that seemed to fail. But over a 2 year period, I probably replaced 5 to 10 of my roughly 40 switches. I'm hoping these are more robust. Smart switches and a smart house, costs a lot and replacing things like a switch, can be costly. But these are an awesome first step into a smart house.

Great S2 Authentication and long press
Unlike some other persons post. This does work with S2 authentication and it stays on it. It also allows for quick and long clicks to turn off and on devices. Only one event for on and one event for off though. As for the install is is your simple. Easiest instructions I’ve seen for a 3 way switch. Other switches have bad manuals. It was super simple to set up this switch into home assistant with the QR code to scan on the box and the switch itself on the front plate.I bought just one for a bathroom fan to turn on with a humidity sensor. I only have one use for this style of switch. If I ever need another in my automation; this will be purchased in the future.

A little "delicate" with power outages
I have a whole bunch of these in my house and have had them for over 5 years.I say they're "delicate" because power failures can blow them out. I've replaced the one in the garage twice, and the latest outage blew out the one in my master closet. Also, sometimes I have to "repair" the z- wave network for my Smartthings hub to "see" them again after an outage. That said, I find them easy to install, connect to my hub and, until I have another outage, they work flawlessly. And these are the only z-wave toggle switches out there, that I've found.

Dope
Nice to walk in my kitchen and lights turn on automatically as well as my bathroom fan turning on when humidity rises too high.

An Improved replacement for a "zapped" earlier version
A recent power outage took out my three year old, or so, earlier version of this switch. Nuts! It failed safely. I immediately ordered a replacement, which was a newer version. I was able to install it quickly after it arrived. Things I like about the newer version: - The height, width and depth are all reduced, making it easier to "stuff" everything into the electrical box to complete the install. - No need to figure out which is the "hot" wire and which is the "load" wire . . . it allows you to connect either wire to either of two terminals, but as stated, NOT to the "traveler" wire connection screw (optionally used for a multi-switch install). - The switch handle now has an added blue LED built in that you can set up to work in a couple of ways or just leave it off. It makes it easier to confirm the switch/light is on in situations were it isn't easy to see from the vicinity of the switch. Nice! Now . . . my hope is that this switch may be a bit more robust when it comes to future power outages or glitches!

Easy to Install, Easy to Connect - Update
I'm going to knock the switch down from 5 to 4 stars. The manufacturer should make it clear in the description: when installing in a 3-way switch configuration you need a second add-on switch. These will not operate properly without the add on switch. It was easy to install and connect, after I worked out one issue. There are two black screws marked "load/line" and the directions suggest it doesn't matter which you use for the load and which you use for line, but it does. After following the directions, I could turn the light on and off manually, but I couldn't connect the switch to ADT Pulse and the switch wouldn't cycle through the glow options. Because the light functioned, I assumed the switch was installed correctly. After 1hr trying to get someone at ADT to help (I couldn't), I switched the load and line wires. That worked. I gave this only four stars because they need to update the directions.

It works.
My original switch which was installed by my security system provider 3 years ago finally bit the dust. I found this one for way cheaper here than what the security company wanted to charge and I knew I could install it myself. It took all of about 5 minutes to install. It came with easy to follow directions and now my security lights work as they should. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

THEY SUCK Smart switches don’t support Z-Wave Plus encryption
These switches might join using Z-Wave plus encryption, but then quickly fail and default to no encryption. This is a problem because they won’t act as a signal repeater for any device that does use encryption. Also the switches do not support a “long press” through Z-wave.But worse than that! These switches HAVE to be clicked, if you flipped the switch up and held it (expecting the lights to come up) they will completely IGNORE your request. Instantly causing your brain to go UP-DOWN-UP, but unless you ONLY click the switch ONCE in ONE direction, it will still IGNORE your input and not turn on the light. You have to click the switch either up or down, and only do one quick click!(Anyone who isn’t used to these switches struggles with this)
