for me it works perfect. Being a hyper allerged person with a very sensative skin and scalp, I've been using Design essentials for , hairsome years now resuts are marvelous no scalp burning hair look fantastic after relaxing.

Where the instructions say to start smoothing your hair, does it mean with a Hair straightener?

No it just mean the the product will straighten after application is applied.

are there any smaller size containers?

These were all individual size container that activator needed to be added with it.

This is beyond awesome!

I am African American with extremely coarse hair and have found it difficult to find a relaxer that can last more than 1.5 weeks in my hair. I exercise regularly and with most relaxers my hair is back to an almost natural state after 1.5 weeks but not with Design Essentials. I just started using it but I am in my 4th week and my hair is like it was on the day I relaxed it. It's soft and not dry. This is going to be my go to relaxer from this point on. I highly recommend it for women with coarse hair because this works like a charm.

Amazing Product! It is gentle not harsh on hair, rinses well, and leaves hair silky, with a natural sheen. This perm does not dry out hair. Another plus, the pre-measure bottle is convenient for measuring the activation solution which comes in a large bottle. If you are looking for a great perm, then look no further!!
