Gooby Escape Free Sport Dog Harness, Choke-Free, Blue, Medium

I bought a regular harness that velcroed around my small yorkie puppie because it was the smallest harness I could find that would fit her at 2 1/5 lbs when we brought her home in early July at 9 weeks old. At about 6 mos old and 6lbs I put it on her and attempted to take her out for a walk, she backed out of it and was running loose on the street I live on, I panicked and was chasing her in my flip flops, terrified she would get away or hit by a car etc. I wound up falling myself and getting up and eventually catching her and getting inside safely but was totally traumatized. I bought this escape proof Gooby harness to replace that one and so far so good, she keeps trying to back out of it and it just hugs her and keeps her secured much to her chagrin and my relief! I also ordered a collar and a leash clip to clip the collar to the leash for double protection, but it hasn't yet arrived and so far the Gooby harness and leash are staying attached to my small puppy. I cannot tell you how terrified I was the day she backed out of the other one and escaped, she is small and very fast, in the house it takes both my husband I I together to corner and catch her if she is in the mood to run. I was terrified I wouldn't catch her alive the day she got loose. She is a small yorkie, today 7 mos old and 7.3lbs I bought the smallest size the offer here and it's adjusted as small as it will go and is working great. Gooby, if you could make one that is slightly smaller, not everyone's yorkies are 6lbs and up and they need a smaller size. OK updating my review, my puppy is now 9 mos old and 7.8lbs and I am marching her all over in this harness, no worries she isn't trying to escape and it's keeping her secure.

So far, so great! This harness is exactly what we were looking for. Our pup was using a martingale collar at her foster home, but we wanted to switch to a harness and wanted to stick with the martingale "no-escape" style. This harness is perfect! Our pup is 12 lbs, 10 inch neck girth , 17 inch chest girth, and she is a mini poodle. We bought the size small, and it fits like a glove! It's soft and seems comfy. Turquoise color is just as pictured. It is easy to adjust, and I love the rubber stoppers that prevent it from sagging down if your pup is walking nicely and not pulling. Our girl does not pull much so this harness is perfect for our needs. The plastic d-rings kind of worried me at first, but again, she doesn't really pull much and she's so little. Now for my 25 lb or 50 lb dog, I would never buy this harness unless it had metal d-rings because they are both pullers sometimes when they see other dogs.

Love it she can’t get out now

I bought this after my dog escaped her other harness and ran out into the street. I was looking for something for small dogs that is difficult to escape. Her chest is about 15 inches so I bought the small. It took a minute to figure out the adjustments, but it fits very snug on her now and she hasn't been able to back out of it (which was the problem with the other harness). Even though the harness says it fits smaller dogs than her, I had to adjust it as small as possible to get a snug fit. I do worry that the straps in the back may be irritating her, but she always scratches at harnesses regardless so she didn't scratch any more or less in this one. So far I haven't noticed any chafing issues at all. Overall I'm very happy with this one, with two exceptions. 1. It gets dirty very easily. 2. I was unable to find the matching leash at 6 foot length, so I had to buy a generic black leash since it would be hard to match up the color.

Sorry about the photos, but i woke my pup for the pictures and she was not happy about it. She was recently diagnosed with a collapsed trachea and my vet recommended me to get a harness that would work for such condition. after spending a lot of time researching, this one seemed to fit the bill. all i can say is i wish i had found this before. i had used puppia harnesses for years and i thought they were good --not saying its not-- but the design on this is FAR superior. it took me a while to figure out how to use the harness, it was a little cumbersome to understand how to work it, but once i figure it out, she loves it. it keeps all the pressure down on her chest and never on her neck area. its very easy to put on her and the quality is clearly there. who ever designed this is a genius! worth every penny. my dog is a dachshund beagle mix, and she inherently has a very puffy chest. she weights in at 25lbs and the large size worked perfectly.

The only reason I sized up was because he chewed through it while it was on him during the car ride. Luckily I noticed it or there'd be a runaway puppy. He did one side at first and it was still usable with caution, but he made sure it wasn't at all before I could replace it. He "outgrew" his backup one which was also a gooby (diamond shaped step in). He's an escape artist and this one is the only "least escape risk" I could find. He backs up a lot on walks because he protests a lot and it's the only one that makes me feel safer than other ones out there. Unlike the S, the M tighteners are very hard to move up and down. Overall I'm only sticking with it because it's the best for him so far and it's highly adjustable for the different shaped chests and torsos. Around 30 bucks is steep for something that isn't full proof. Colors are nice though (lime and turquoise), it's light and doesn't choke. They also sent me a messed up one when I bought used "like new" with permanent imprints and holes in it.

I have a 15# Maltese and a 64# St. Bernard mix. For some unknown reason, I have it in my mind that they *need* matching harnesses and I have always used the step in kind vs over the head, so why change now! For the little guy, it's great. It doesn't rub against his neck, lessening the gawd awful sounds he makes when he pulls and chokes himself. The back strap there is the buckle clip and the plastic (more on this later) D ring to attach the leash. When the D rings are hooked to the leash, it puts more tension and tightens th harness, which I really like. While walking, I feel that he is very secure and isn't going to bolt, but he can wear it post walk/travel and be comfy. The lime green looks B-E-A-UTIFUL against his while coat. As for my big girl, she has long skinny legs, a big barrelled check, and a skinnier neck. I got a large for her, (because that is the biggest that is offered), but when it was put on, you can tell it is very snug in the armpits. We use a double walking leash, and she puts more pressure on the leash than little guy, so one of the D-ring was constantly slipping out of the slip of the leash, lessening the security of the harness. So, for small doggies, GREAT CHOICE. For larger puppers, look for something else.

Comfortable and Houdini free! 😃 I’ve had several precious dogs over the years and tried many different harnesses, from low end to high end, and never really found one that I could actually give thumbs up too. But with my present lil girl, Oakley a 23lb Cockerpoo, I’ve tried a few different harnesses and was still unhappy with them until I came across this one, it must be in my opinion the best harness out there! Not only is it a “step-in” harness, which is so much easier than trying to get a harness around the dogs head and ears 🙄, it seems to be super comfortable. Why? Because as you’re walking your dog the harness fits loosely around its girth and that’s the amazing part, for one it gives your dog comfort and flowing air but it’s also impossible to pull a Houdini! Because the moment they try to break free from their harness the top strap closes in on the harness and tightens snuggly rendering the harness safe from escape! When I received it, I was a bit skeptical, cause it’s minimalist, lightweight and the double straps seemed odd. But once I had it on her and properly adjusted, I understood the smart configuration of it, wow! I will definitely keep buying this harness going forward. Bought it in size medium for my 23 pound girl.

Very Good Harness....a little overpriced, but it is secure

Practical and Elegant, it fits perfectly with adjustable straps, but i was hoping to see more apparel, apparel parts is covering the chest only, and partly visible.

El arnés es de excelente calidad, en verdad ayuda a que el perrito por más que lo intente, no se escapará. Además es acojinado de tal manera que no lastima al animalito. Para mi perrita Pug de 9 kilos compré talla grande y le quedó muy bien
