Madame X

Madame X is one of my favorites. It's a tear-jerker, but I'm not sure that younger viewers could understand why Lana Turner made the sacrifice for her son and her husband. Kier Dullea shows amazing talent as her grown son.

1 of the most memorable Movie I've ever watched. Talk about a 'Mother in Law from H**l' Lana Turner, JOHN FORSYTHE, Constance Bennett, Ricardo Montalban Just to name a few. It's a good watch. ONE that I could relate to having a not so good mother in law!

I've loved this movie for many years and enjoy watching it every now and then. It never gets old.

I enjoy old movies and this was a must have for my library.

Old time favorite

Superb acting, well-paced and always a tearjerker. I watch this movie every few years.

Wunderschön, traurig und zu Tränen rührend. Lana Turner hat ein wundervolles Leben, bis sie einen Fehler macht und alles aufgeben muss was ihr etwas bedeutet. Fortan geht sie durch die Hölle und kehrt letzendlich an den Anfang zurück. Aber ist es nun zu spät? Die letzen Momente des Films haben mich mitgerissen wie kaum einanderer. Grausam und doch der Erlösung so nah... Ich habe geheult wie meine Großmutter bei rührenden Filmen. Eine klare Empfehlung meinerseits für jeden der die guten alten Hollywood Melodramen liebt!

I have a standard definition of this DVD but when I saw it was also available in high definition I wanted to upgrade as it is such a good film. I was concerned, however, at some of the reviews about it being in Italian/French with foreign headlines where the newspaper headlines are used in the film. I contacted the seller, therefore, who was most helpful and promptly replied that these reviews do not refer to his films and assured me it was in English. The Blu-ray arrived quickly and was as expected. For a 1966 film the HD was good, in English, with English newspaper headlines. Very happy. I defy anyone not to shed a tear at the end of this film !!!

Film très émouvant. Magnifique. Malheureusement, pas de version française.

Histoire émouvante, captivante et superbe acting le la sublime Lana Turner comme d'habitude.

un classico del cinema, le interpretazioni possono sembrare un pò sopra le righe e forse nel 2023 è difficile capire un tema di integrità e rispetto come quello che spinge la protagonista ad annullare se stessa per il marito e figlio, però il film è veramente godibilissimo. Il personaggio della suocera credo possa considerarsi il punto di riferimento di ogni suocera del cinema da quel film in poi. Il finale commuove anche il più duro di cuore
