This is GREAT peppercorn! It smells great, tastes great, it is fresh and has an ample amount of red peppercorn (I have found others to be lacking in red). If you have fresh-ground pepper on your table, you'll never go back to regular canned variety. It arrived quickly and was packed well. I'll definitely be purchasing this again.

Nicely spicy and fresh. Really enhances the taste better than the common store-bought peppercorns from McCormick or others. The size for the price is very good plus, the business is in Charlestown, so it is kind of supporting a local business (I used to live in MA)

some of the pepper corns are too big for the grinder it plugs it up and you have to tear it apart to unplug it

Smelled fresh but the Szechuan peppercorns are too big for the grinder (about 2-3 times the size of the others) and also lighter weight. So as we grind, they work their way to the top of the pepper mill and we end up removing them and throwing them away. They also have a different taste...not bad, but not peppery as we expected. These must be what people are saying is coriander or something else.Since we lost a fair amount of the pound to the above mentioned, I give these 3 stars. Otherwise, the rest of the peppercorns grind up fine and taste good.

This is an excellent mix of flavorful peppercorns. Unlike other products that are predominately black peppercorns, this mix contains a good proportion of green, pink, white and Jamaican (allspice) peppercorns. Although the label specifies Szechuan pepper, I didn't find any. A question recently answered by JR Mushrooms & Specialties says the mix is white peppercorns, black peppercorns, pink peppercorns, green peppercorns and Jamaican peppercorns. Upon opening, you should transfer the peppers to a resealable bag or a mason jar to maintain freshness. I coarsely ground these peppercorns for curing and smoking five pounds of pork belly - they imparted a wonderful flavor to my homemade bacon. Enjoy!

These peppercorns are great...Reasonably priced.. Taste wonderful.. We love the 5 blend mix... We'll definitely repurchase when we run out...

Great mix. The larger peppercorns don't jam my ceramic grinder, but I do get their husks out in large pieces occasionally. No big deal. This is definitely a reorder item. I love pepper, and this is a wonderful blend, no black pepper involved. If you want to throw a little in it, go for it. I do sometimes and it works well. It is better without it though :)

A four peppercorn mix would have been much better. The fifth and largest "peppercorn" is just a filler and does not grind well with the smaller corns. It also does not add much to the flavour. It appears to have been added so the the vendor can entice the buyer with 5 rather than 4 peppercorns and it also takes up space and weight unnecessarily. I would not buy again.

Nice collection of pepper. Feel fresh. Grinds well. Comes in plain zip lock bag. Not sure food product should come with out proper labeling.
