Great Customer Service!
Zavor responds rapidly to customer concerns! My Zavor LCD Insta Pot was not working properly so I sent an email note to Zavor and they responded quickly! set up a ticket to track our conversation! and resolved the problem within 3 days. I am so impressed with this level of customer service. The Insta Pot is easy to use and allows me to do other things while dinner is cooking! "a hands free pressure cooker" that does not overcook food!

Over delivered on expectations
We bought this because of America's Test Kitchen rating the devices - for kitchen stuff, they are our "go to" for recommendations. It is interesting to use and incredibly fast for cooking. We do a chicken tortilla soup all the time now. I recommend reading the instructions for cleaning - the lid gasket is tricky to remove the first time. The controls are not intuitive so you have to play around with them to figure out to use them. Other than that, it is down to finding recipes that you like - apple sauce is REAL easy and quick in this device too.

JUST SAY NO...BUMMED THAT I HAVE TO LEAVE A BAD REVIEW...
ok folks at zavor, i'm glad you tried, I really am. that said, I am just saying "no" to your current pot. I've been using a variety of multi cookers for some time now, saying that to establish i'm not a newbie, let's go forward. at first try, it was very hard to get the plug to plug into the pot....eventually it was plugged in. however, on my second try, it again remained hard to plug...this w/the knowledge that I already knew it was tricky. in an effort to understand the pot and it's functions, i decided to simply play around w/a pot of water. yes, eventually i got to where the water was decently boiling. filled it up a few times and just let it steam for a while. but then.... when i took out the pot the whole bottom was pitted, it had the rainbow look to it. this is no quality pot... and i wouldn't trust the food cooked in the thing. I've posted a pic of the pitting. the pic is a little blacker than reality, but you can clearly see the pitting. one could try and say it's my water source.....well, i have pots SS pots from a lot of other multicookers here and not one of them ever did this. and no, it wasn't cooked dry, i had a LOT of water in the pot. the second pic is one i took AFTER i went ahead and wiped it down, but still felt kinda rough inside the pot, so then decided to wash w/soap and water and dry. you can see the black on the paper i used to dry the thing. anyone here want to cook in that pot now? thought not. so, ok, the thing boiled water and destroyed my pot is issue number 1. that was it's first use. but going on to function, style or just looks which is subjective to all of us is the following: 1. there is no hole in the handle like the instapot has where you can put your lid into to keep it next to the pot and off the counter; 2. the LCD area looks like someone simply fabricated a metal box and stuck it to the pot. you look at the IP and you at least have a nice plastic border around the thing; 3. i go back the plug being really hard to plug into the pot...just off somehow. eventually I couldn't get the thing to even come back on...plug issue not connecting? I dunno. so again zavor, i'm glad you decided to try and redeem things from your old company, i'm glad you are trying.... but folks, it's back to the board w/this thing.... at minimum get a quality pot for the thing.

Stopped Working After 3 Yrs
I purchased the Zavor LUX LCD 6 Quart Multi-cooker in January 2020 and used it no more than a dozen times. I was very satisfied with it until it just stopped working. I was in the middle of pressure cooking beef stew and noticed after 10 or 15 minutes that the unit was completely off. After troubleshooting a bit (changing the outlet, etc.), I wound up moving the contents to an old slow cooker in order to finish the cooking. I contacted Zavor, and I have to say they were prompt in their response. However, they decided not to do anything about the failed unit since it was past its warranty. I ordered a new cooker today, an Instant Pot.

All the functions in the world!
So far, I love this little appliance! I chose it based on the recommendations of America’s Test Kitchen. The digital display is a little fiddly and took me a few tries to get it going the first time I used it, but it has more different options and functions than I will probably ever use and includes all of the ones I actually will. I especially love that it has an option for a sous vide function, although I have not used it for that purpose yet. It makes perfectly cooked rice in about 20 minutes including cool down/depressurization time, as well as fall-apart tender corned beef in only an hour and a half. The included cookbook also has a bunch of delicious sounding recipes I plan to try in the near future. It’s kind of the best thing in my kitchen. Notable for everyone wanting to buy a multi-cooker to replace multiple small appliances in your kitchen, if you’re planning to ditch your slow cooker after getting one of these (or one of its competitors), make sure you subtract an hour off the cook time for slow cooking recipes, even for cooking on low heat. If you don’t, meats may come out a bit tough. This is another hint I got from ATK to compensate for the fact that these heat up so much quicker than a slow cooker does.

Never achieves pressure
The lid has never been able to achieve pressure. Sometimes if we fidget with the lid enough times we can make it work half way through whatever we are trying cook, but it never fails to infuriate me. Now I refuse to even use it. How this was rated the best multi cooker by Cook’s Illustrated, is beyond me! It was so pricey that now I feel bad buying an Instapot, which is what I want to do.

The ONLY pot you’ll ever need!
Consumer Reports rated this top of their list and America’s Test Kitchen also rated this one the Best. I’ve been very happy with it. Get the cookbook too, especially if you are new to using a multi-cooker. The digital menu is very user friendly and this cooker is so versatile! It can not only pressure cook, but slow cook as well. And can even do extra low and slow to make yogurt. There is a “Sauté” feature that I just love (which means I can make every part of a meal in this one pot and don’t have to dirty more pans). It also makes white rice just as well as my dedicated rice cooker. Cooks dry beans like a dream! No more soaking overnight and stewing for hours. I can make DRY pintos in 25 mins, lentils in 12 mins and mung beans in 5 mins!! If I ever retire to a tiny house/condo this is the only cooking pot I’ll ever need. Love it!💛
