Out of the box I thought it looked a bit cheap, like a toy. But later I learned it was built light, and delicate, like a lot of other "science" equipment I've owned. It wasn't easy, but I'm pretty tech savvy, so I got it set up in no time. At first I thought the picture was a bit blurry, until I realized that the cap on the end wasn't a lens, it was the lens cover. Duh. Then I had to learn how to focus it properly. You can be 6 inches or 6 mm away from the subject, and still get a great picture, but you have to experiment a bit to figure out the distance vs. focus position (it's quite wide, 0-1000). All of the "not steady" complaints, I'll assume, come from people who've never looked through a microscope before, or forgot what it's like. Magnify anything even 100 times, and you'll notice even the slightest movement - of the table the subject is sitting on, of the scope in it's mount, of the object itself - even breathing on it can make the picture, unsteady. Magnify it 1000 times and it's a whole, new ballgame. Holding the device steady in your hands is virtually impossible unless you're a surgeon. So you place everything on a firm surface, adjust the focus and let go...don't touch anything. If it's not focused clearly, adjust it one way or the other a tad, then let go again. And use the app to zoom in if you need to. Oh, and don't try to snap a picture by pushing the "snap" button on the side of the scope, use the app. Otherwise the scope will move as you press it and the picture will be blurry. Practice makes perfect, and after about 3 weeks, I'm a master. I love this little scope! I'm a science nerd who asked for, and got, a microscope for his 12th birthday. So I've been using these kind of devices for over 40 years. Not sure how long it will last, but I take care of my equipment so I think I'll get my money's worth out of this little guy. Oh, and for those in the know...trichomes are cool looking. Review: Nothing but trouble, app is terrible, save yourself the headaches and hassle. - The app they provide is terrible, asks for numerous permissions for phone options it does not need. There is 0 english support, its entirely in chinese! Once installed the scope worked for 10 seconds then once moved the image disappears and it just tries to load with no success. Would be much better if these where bluetooth. The power button turns the scope on, but not off, only way to turn off is to use the reset button. On top of that mine appeared to arrive used with fingerprints on it. Could have been from packing though who knows. Keep in mind the app (HVviewer) for this asks for permissions to your contacts, phones ability to make and recieve calls, access contacts, along with GPS location tracking and numerous other app permissions that are totally unneeded for this product!!!! If looking for a wifi wireless scope, look for a one that uses MaxSee software. Those I have seen first hand from friends work great.

Awesome Device For The Tech/Science Savvy
This is one of my new favorite devices, but it took me awhile to learn how to use it right. Out of the box I thought it looked a bit cheap, like a toy. Perfect rudimentary microscope
It works perfect. Incredible value at this price - the image is sharp, all functions work well- so much fun!

Must have steady hands to use!
You must have a really steady hand to use this! It takes practice to use! When using base you still have to set object at an angle and is still difficult to find that sweet spot. If there is a option to reduce shaking I have yet to find it. The picture quality is good when you can focus. The on/off button is on one side and the pic button is on the other with the zoom in the middle so you certainly need to make sure you are hitting the right button. As I said you will have to practice using before you dive into what you are needing it for.

If the struggle is to real, come here
It shuts off randomly and then you have to run around trying to find a needle to reset the device. That definitely is a little annoying especially when it happens almost every 5 minutes. It’s a good idea but poorly made. I’m not saying that potential customers should run away and avoid this product at all cost, but I would definitely recommend looking into other ones first.

Hooking up to the wifi can be tricky.
Easy to use and it's great for monitoring your trichomes.

Blurry, hard to operate the manual focus on the microscope.
Oh I wanted this to work for my son. But I returned it. I did not have a problem finding or downloading the app. I took few minutes to turn the app on to start using the microscope but I was also ok with that. The quality of the magnified picture was poor. It requires CONSTANT FOCUS ADJUSTING by hand on the microscope. Not practical when you holding it in one hand and need to search with a dial the best viewing option, you will loose interest soon, most of the time everything remained pretty blurry. When there will be an autofocus option I will gladly invest in a new one.

Could have better instructions, but pics are great
Instructions are confusing... Website is a pain to access because its in Chinese... We skipped first half of instructions and it works perfect.
