Excellent, Hilarious, fully stop Goodread.

Rachel's brilliance and productivity still remain a mystery
As a serious Rachel "dependee", I loved this book. In it you learn details about both the intricacies involved in producing her show and the breathless speed at which she operates. You learn facts about her life and how she came to have her own show at such a young age. You learn a bit about her private life (which you want to respect for her sake). You hear about how funny she is and you really wish she was your old friend. What seems to be missing in this too slim book is something more about her unique genius -- the avidness she brings to bear as she homes in on the most essential questions of the day. It is clear that her brilliant work stems, in part, from her laser focus, her dogged discipline and her unrelenting schedule. (This will worry you.) What remains elusive may have to do with her eagerness and commitment to truth seeking. You wonder how it is that this zeal runs so very deep in her bones.

This is very good, well written biography of my best journalist. If you want to inform yourself about her life, then this is the book you may want to read.

Great insight into the background of Rachel Maddow and TRMS
I have dinner with Rachel Monday to Friday, year round. As an avid Canadian viewer of The Rachel Maddow Show, I'm ashamed to admit that I know more about U.S. politics and politicians than I do about our own bunch in Ottawa. There are times when her show's segments have you on the edge of your seat. This biography provides a fascinating insight into Rachel's education, advocacy background and perchance start on radio before joining MSNBC. The book is an absorbing, easy read (just a few concentrated hours) and helps to better understand Rachel's approach to her job. I had expected to read that she would be courted by the political left through social circles outside of her broadcasting role, but it's clearly evident that Ms. Maddow steers clear of ingratiating herself in this way. The author, Lisa Rogak, does a good job of identifying, through research of publications and articles, the often chaotic process involved in producing TRMS to viewers and relaying Rachel's insecurity at times with her nightly performance. A fascinating presenter of news, and an absorbing book to eke out the reality of just who Rachel Maddow is - perhaps the greatest TV storyteller of political news in our time. Kudos to Lisa Rogak for a great read.

Well Worth The Read
I have been a faithful follower of The Rachael Maddow show and admire her journalistic skills, the book took it one step further. It was an enjoyable read and has enhanced my viewing of her.

Quick Read
Great bio. Really explored what motivates Rachel and why she is so good at what she does. She makes it look effortless and yet the book explains how hard she works to get her presentation perfect. Well researched and the author gets right to the point.
