This yeast did the job for brewing a yeast starter

Makes really good beer and mead. Yes, I use it for mead. Just use a little acid, some yeast nutrient and this yeast and you are good to go. No funky aftertastes or smells and it will make mead stronger than you expect. I've made some really good Russian Imperial Stouts with this too.

I really like this. Amazon makes it convenient to order this kind of yeast when I plan on brewing in a pinch(since I have no local home brewing store). I have ordered this yeast once and it came in good packaging and when it was in the fermenter it made lots of activity. I'll be ordering again soon for another batch! Only think I don't like is how it it is relatively expensive, but i guess this is the price I pay for convenience.

Flexible yeast for use in many styles. Needed something quick and this was an easier way to get it than heading accross town to the homebrew store.

Overpriced. This is the best all around yeast for ales, but I can get it for 1/3 the price (or less) at my local home brew shop. I thought this was a multi-pack, when I saw the shipping at 1 lb. Very disappointed to pay this much for this amount of yeast. Confusing to have multi-packs of 10 or more packages (like Lalvin 71B 1122, my favorite wine yeast) next to single packages; would be best to have them more clearly labelled - as with case lots. I am very disappointed with this purchase at this price.
